EVGA GeForce 7900 GTX Preview - PAGE 4
Tom Karpik - Thursday, March 9th, 2006

You know how there's always that section of legalese for every contest, advertisement, and book that you see that no one really cares about -- but there'd be hell to pay if it wasn't there? Yeah, that's this page. Enjoy.

Our benchmark system for the GeForce 7900 GTX consisted of the following:

The line-up of video cards used looked as follows:

  • EVGA GeForce 7900 GTX (512 MB, 690 MHz core/880 MHz memory)
  • Reference NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 512 (512 MB, 550 MHz core/850 MHz memory)
  • Reference NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX (256 MB, 430 MHz core/600 MHz memory)
  • ATI Radeon X1900 XT (512 MB, 625 MHz core/725 MHz memory)

A list of benchmarks performed follows:

  • 3DMark 2006 Feature Tests
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Doom 3
  • F.E.A.R.
  • Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Drivers used were ForceWare 84.17 for the NVIDIA cards, CATALYST 6.3 for the ATI card, and nForce4 AMD 6.70. The operating system used was Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. The Classic theme was in use with minimal effects enabled, and unneeded system services were turned off so as to provide maximal system resources for the benchmarks.

So how about those pretty graphs?
