Final Words
So what is the point of a wireless mouse if the mouse pad still needs to be powered? I believe the answer lies in the fact that many of my co-workers still stuck with corded mice point out that since you move the mouse so much, it is inevitable that it will get tangled up on something, especially if your workspace lacks maneuvering room or if there is just a lot of junk on it.
On the flip side, whether a mouse pad is connected to a computer or not does not change the fact it will rarely be moved from its position. Using this logic, the A4Tech wireless mouse will never get its cord tangled in anything, whereas a normal mouse might. Due to the same design issue, though, this set should not be considered an outright replacement for a wireless mouse. At best, it is a corded mouse replacement, since you will be unable to freely move it around for Powerpoint presentations like a normal wireless mouse might.
So what do I think of it? I've actually enjoyed using this mouse. It does not feel restricted in its movement, even though the range is confined to the mouse pad. The technology behind A4Tech's NB-30 is impressive - if A4Tech ever released a higher-end version with more buttons and a much larger pad (think double width), then I would be all over it. However, the NB-30 is a worthy mouse in its own right, as there are a lot of positives going for it.
