The name of the game for the Asus C90S is upgradability. But before we get into the laptop, lets take a quick look at the external ports and plugs.
We'll start with the front side of the notebook. Here we have a 8-in-1 (MMC/SD/Mini-SD/XD/MS/MS-Pro/ MS-Duo/MS-Pro-Duo) Flash memory card reader. Right after that, we have an infrared communication port.

On the rear side of the notebeook, starting from the left, we have a Kensington lock port. This works with a variety of products from the Kensington company to improve the security of your laptop, ranging from physical methods (chains) to motion-triggered alarms.
Beside this lock port we have two USB 2.00 ports. And to the right of the 'Turbo Engine', is the power input.

On the right side of the laptop is the optical drive. Our unit had a DVD R/W drive, but this is upgradeable to HD DVD and Blu-Ray optical drives, and other varieties.

Going from left to right, first off we have a modem port. Plug a phone line in here and you can use the C90S's integrated 56K fax / modem. Beside the modem port is the 10/100/1000 LAN port. But if no cables are near, there is no need to worry, as the C90S also has a built-in 802.11n compliant wireless adapter.
Next, we have a VGA monitor output, for those who are interested in plugging in a larger, separate display.
The next port has become increasingly popular recently: it's a TV-out port, so if you are short a spare display, you can connect your laptop to a projector or television with a (not-included, but often bundled with video card) S-Video cable.
And yet another display output is beside the TV-out: here we have a HDMI port. With the VGA monitor, television, and HDMI output ports, you'll probably find yourself hard-pressed not to have options in connecting the C90S to any variety of visual display device. The HDMI port especially turns the C90S into a true portable multimedia player. If you get this configured with an HD or BD drive, or better yet, a combo, this would be a device to be reckoned with.
Continuing on, the left side of C90S also features an E-SATA port for external hard drives. An additional E-SATA port would have been great to see, but one will be sufficient for most people.
Next we have audio-related features: a microphone input, and then a dual-purpose, SPDIF output / headphone jack.

And finally, we have a IEEE1394 Port (Firewire), an antenna port (the C90S comes with a small antenna that can be used for TV or FM radio signals), another USB port, and a ExpressCard expansion slot.
That takes care of everything on the outside of the C90S. Now lets see what this C90S looks like on the inside.
