Crucial Ballistix PC4000 - PAGE 2
Tom Karpik - Monday, January 17th, 2005

The Crucial Ballistix was tested on the following hardware configuration:

  • AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 939 processor
  • Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI nForce4 motherboard
  • Western Digital WD1200JD 120 GB Serial ATA hard drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB PCI-Express
  • OCZ ModStream 520W power supply

We used a combination of SiSoft Sandra 2005 Lite and RightMark Memory Analyzer 3.45 to test the RAM, as well as MemTest86 3.2 to test for errors when overclocking.

Benchmarks

At the stock speed of 200 MHz (400 MHz DDR), the Ballistix PC4000 memory set itself to SPD timings of 2.0-3-3-8, and we forced the use of 1T timing. This combination of settings yielded no errors in MemTest86.

SiSoft Sandra testing yielded the following scores (highest out of three runs):

RightMark's Memory Analyzer provides some more insight into the inner workings and performance of the memory:

These are definitely good scores for a stock 200 MHz memory clock.
