Introduction
By now few of us are strangers to Thermaltake, and many of you already know about its sister company: Bluetake. For those who don't its really quite simple: Bluetake is to bluetooth devices what Thermaltake is to cases and cooling. The product we're looking at today is an interesting one: a Bluetooth headset that works as a wireless audio headphone AND wireless cellphone headset. Bluetake is downright proud of this because its the ONLY product of its kind on the market today. SO let's get started and introduce you to the Bluetake I-PHONO BT420EX.
Headset and Headphones in One
The big selling point of this product is its dual capabilities. You can pair this with your Bluetooth capable cellphone and also with the included Bluetooth audio dongle. The result? A pair of wireless audio headphones that also double as a wireless cell phone headset. The real kicker here is that if you receive a cellphone call while your listening to music on the I-PHONO, you will be notified of the call, and you will have the option of receiving the call straight on the headset. It's quite an interesting concept and we're sure it will appeal to users who have Bluetooth support in their phone yet who have not yet purchased a Bluetooth headset.
The idea behind I-PHONO is really quite simple enough: the headset has Bluetooth capability, it receives its audio signal from a Bluetooth dongle that plugs into any normal "headphone" like 1/8" audio jack. The simple 1/8" jack connection ensures that the I-PHONO will be compatible with nearly all stereo systems, portable CD players, portable MP3 players, MP3 capable cell phones, media capable PDAs, computers, and any other number of devices. Even professional equipment that use larger 1/4" stereo headphone jacks could be used if one buys an adapter jack.
This high level of compatibility makes the I-PHONO ideal for lots of different applications. In fact, the designers made the dongle completely battery powered, to ENSURE that the device could be used just about anywhere and anyhow. It's quite easy to go from using the I-PHONO as your computer headphones to having the I-PHONO plugged into your PDA while you're out in the backyard.
