Palit HD 4870 Sonic Review - PAGE 4
Kevin Spiess - Thursday, October 9th, 2008

We normally do not include overclocked results in the benchmarking graphs because overclocking ability often varies from card to card. But this time around, with three different overclocking modes tested -- the manual max overclock, the switch on 'Turbo', and the switch set to 'Normal' -- we thought readers might be interested in seeing performance comparisons across the different modes.

Judging from these results, personally I would not stress your card exceeding the 'Turbo' setting -- the results do not seem to be all that worth it. Maybe down the road, say two or three years from now, when the HD 7870's (or equivalent) are out, then maybe push the card a little more. For now, there really isn't any game out that'll stress your card enough to the point where you want to squeeze out another three or four frames per second.
