AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Review - PAGE 6
Carl Poirier - Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Everyone knows WinRAR, so no need to explain what it is. I will compress our custom 10MB, 100MB and 500MB files using the greatest compression setting, in the ZIP format.

Cinebench 10 is another rendering program. I will run both the single-threaded benchmark as well as the multi-threaded.

The Phenom II won over the competition in WinRAR. The Q9650 was pretty close though. Since this application is single-threaded, the Core i7 was very far from the others which have a higher clock. In cinebench, the 955 managed to dig quite a big gap between it and the Core 2 Quad. It also beat the 920 when the benchmark was run on a single thread, however it needed overclocking to keep its lead when the multi-thread benchmark was run.
