The driving world on the Xbox has gotten a bit of a boost these days. Many title ports and some powerful exclusives like Forza make things interesting with detailed representations of car dynamics and handling. While not all are like this there are some simulations. As such sometimes players find themselves at a point where they are in need of something more for their gaming experience.
Fanatec takes on this task in a catagory packed with products claiming to be able to take on the task. The wheel itself is part of their already popular Speedster series racing set and features programable buttons and variable levels of force feedback.
The wheel itself is limited to 210 degrees which is a bit unfortunate given the advancements of the competition but the company seems to be able to make up for it with programable levels of control. One of the main being steering response which allows players to be able to jerk the wheel to maximum degree to get a full turn or to be able to slightly pull the wheel and get similar performance. The same feature adjustment applies to dead zone adjustments, steering resistance, force feedback and more.
The wheel varies in price but we have been able to pin it down around $149 at major retailers like Gamestop, for some this may be asking a bit much, for others it may be right down their alley given that the wheel supports all Xbox racing games thanks to the programable interface. While this all sounds good I can't resist and I have to give it a go for myself to see how things turn up.
