Multi-GPU Performance in DirectX10 - PAGE 4
Kevin Spiess - Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

It seems that CrossFire performance just isn't there yet for Vista/DX10 Bioshock. One HD2900XT was actually faster than two HD2900XT's CrossFire'd.

With SLI, it is a different story: two NVIDIA cards are better than one. SLI brought a respectable increase in performance, for both the 8800 GTS's and GTX's.

This increase -- at least for Bioshock -- seems to be especially noticeable at high resolutions. The higher the resolution, the better the SLI advantage gets. Gamers with high-res monitors should like what they see with a purchase of a second NVIDIA card for their system.
