Charlie and the Chocolate factory is a great book for I say all ages because it is just fun to read with family or by yourself. Roald Dahl is a great author and has made this a great book as well as it's sequel Charle and the Great Glass Elevator.
This book is about a boy who's family is poor and can't afford very much food. One day Charlie finds a dollar on the street and uses it to buy two chocolate bars (back in the day each bar only was about 30 cents because Charlie still had money to take to family) in the second one he discovers one of the golden tickets for an exclusive entrance to Willy Wonka's factory.
At the end of the book Mr. Wonka shows sort of a big attitude and I like that plot twist and to go with that one there was another one. When Mr. Wonka changed his attitude Charlie stood up for himself and Mr. Wonka reveled that he wanted to see who could run the factory and that Charlie was the right person. I liked the ending and the book overall.
I give this book a 4.1 because of how great it was. If only the book wouldn't of had the Umpalumpa songs it would have been much better in my opinion but I guess it was to entertain all audiences.
