About the Company

One of Europe's Top 5 Independent Game Developers, with a track record of releasing multiple games, on time, across all the home console platforms and PC. The company, originally Interactive Studios, was formed in 1990 by the Oliver Twins (Philip and Andrew) and has grown steadily over the last 15 years, currently employing more than 200 staff.

With an effective management structure and most of team managers have more than 8 years industry experience (while many have 10 years or more) and with a very low staff turnover. Blitz also use talented and proven subcontractors to boost teams where required, for which there is an effective outsourcing and management system.

The company specialises primarily in licensed character games, but also have launched a mature games brand, Volatile Games. The first Volatile branded game was released in the summer of 2006. Blitz has also since created Blitz Arcade, a division which focuses on creating smaller, downloadable games and a Serious Games division which works alongside organisations such as the NHS and M.o.D. to create realistic and effective training simulations.

Blitz have released numerous games on PS2, Xbox and GameCube and one on PSP (plus many PS1 games) but also develop for the next generation of consoles; PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, as well as for PC.

Having developed leading proprietary tools and technology that is shared across all platforms, This technology allows for efficient production of games, but which are optimised for a fast frame rate.

Blitz have a history of developing for the worlds leading publishers, including THQ, Microsoft, Namco, Konami, Eidos, EA, Sony, Atari and VUG. Games released recently include:
