THE GOOD:
The graphics are great, the sounds are good, the gameplay is kinda ok. Clarie, Chris, and Wesker are back. Clarie is more annoying than Resident Evil 2.

THE BAD:
The atmosphere is bad. The zombies could of been better than the same zombies from Resident evil 2. It's easy to defeat the hunters and alexia. The zombies are hard to kill. The controller aren't as good as the N64 controller. The music isn't scary. Not as good as Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. This game have a bad story-line about alexia and alferd.

SUMMARY:
Overall:
Resident Evil Code: Veronica failed to be part 4 in the series, it's not very that good and not scarier like the trilogy. Well, there's already a 4th part of Resident Evil and that is Resident Evil 4. The story-line failed and it didn't felt like the game is part of the series.

Well, when news spread about that Resident Evil: Code Veronica (RECV) was coming out soon, many game players and RE fans were giddy with joy. All of us were very excited, ready to marvel at what features this new toy would have, and how much better it would be than the prequels. Well, this falls somewhat short of most peoples' expectations.

Story: 5/10
A certain aspect I've noticed seems to change from game to game. It's the puzzle solving and story revealing to killing ratio. In the first one, there weren't all that many zombies, but a good amount of tricks and traps for you to overcome. In RE 2, there was some more killing, and still a good amount of puzzles and things. I've only played 3 for a few minutes, but someone told me that it wasn't that hard to figure things out, and there were kills galore. In REVC, there are very few things to figure out. The story itself sucks, I don't really want to reveal anything to spoil it, although nothing special really happens throughout the game. RECV also has more killing than any RE yet. This is cool for a while, but it gets redundant, killing 4-6 zombies every screen. There are some new monsters, but they will mess you up given any chance. Let's put it like this, this game is hard to get through, but not hard to figure out.

Graphics: 8/10
The highlight of this game is definitly the graphics. The movie scenes look pretty close to real, and even some in-game scenes look like they're really happening. Also, unlike the other RE games, this one has a different type of camera. On most screens, the camera will follow you around so you can see a little better, a nice new feature. Everything else, including the guns, herbs, etc. is all true to RE graphics.

Sound: 4/10
The sound of guns gets annoying with all the killing you'll be doing, and the voice acting is kinda bad. The zombies still have their same old grunts and groans, and the humans still have their screams. They could've done a little better in this aspect.

Challenge: 6/10
As stated earlier, there's so much killing it will make your head spin. The only puzzle that's a real challenge is the picture puzzle. Everything else is based on ammo and life conservation.

Features: 6/10
There are some new weapons, nothing all that special. There is also a battle mode that you get when you beat the game.

Control: 6/10
It's Resident Evil....enough said.

Rent/Buy:
Hmmm, tough one...the game is too long to enjoy it if you rent, but you might not want to go through it if you buy it...I guess borrow it from a friend first and if you really feel you need it, then by all means go and get it. I would say let's wait for the sequel, but we said that last time and look what happened...

THE GOOD:
it's resident evil

THE BAD:
the goddamn cameras

SUMMARY:
i gotta agree with 'ya mam' on this one. the cameras annoy the shit outta me because it feels more like 'silent hill 2' than resident evil. what happened to the creepy cameras that didn't move at all? the graphics are great, but it just doesn't have that "resident evil" feel to it anymore. it's a great game if you don't compare it to other resident evils, but its pretty mediocre if you do. hopefully if they ever make another resident evil for playstation 2, then they'll bring back the ol' skool cameras.

THE GOOD:
Gameplay, graphics, controls

THE BAD:
The new moving cameras are really annoying and lacks atmosphere. Boring characters and

SUMMARY:
Code Veronica is possibly the worst of all the resident evil games except survivor. The graphics are good enough and the controls are as usual so it's easy to pick up and play for people used to playing this game.
The downsides are the fact that the weapons are crap and the zombies look stupid even though the AI has been improved. The game is quite a challenge though so that's a good thing because it doesn't get so boring.
The thing I hate most about this game is the moving cameras. The rendered backgrounds have been lost so the atmosphere isn't as good as you would expect. It seems dark and dull and your too restricted to the same areas within the game which is annoying.

If you are a mad fan of ressident evil games then you might find this game is ok. I'd rather stick to resi 2 or 3 as they kick ass. This game is just too dull and annoying.

THE GOOD:
Story, Graphics, and Sound

THE BAD:
As always, Control

SUMMARY:
Realistically, this game will send the willies screaming down your spine. Possibly the best RE yet, Resident Evil Code: Veronica sports an impressive slew of options and unloackables. While I may take note in the excrucuiative attention detail. This game is a definate must own. While the CGI animations weren't seen too often they still made you feel special when they would come up. The battle mode offers fast-paced zombie slaughtering action. Unlockable characters and costumes make Battle mode golden. All said and done Resident Evil Code: Veronica takes the cake!

THE GOOD:
The return of Wesker is an excellent idea and the intro film will whoop your ass.

THE BAD:
Alexia, the boss, Alexia is a s**t boss, why couldn't she be like, Nemesis or William Birkin. When you see her, you will think the designers sat on their arses all day doing jack-shit.

SUMMARY:
Hmmmmmm... Well... Resident Evil: Code Veroonica is an excellent game and if you have a dreamcast or Playsation 2, BUY IT!
The graphics will make you weep, the intro will make you weep and the return of Wesker is so cool, you'll be left speechless.
Complte the game and see the wicked ending.

THE GOOD:
I love the Graphic's, and all the changing of the views makes it even more intense. I love the story line also, and the Battle Mode Kicks ass

THE BAD:
The battle mode part with Wesker is hard a *bleep*

SUMMARY:
The story line is probably the main reason why I love this game so much. I also love kicking some Zombie ass with some high powered guns. But the only thing I have against this game is how hard it is to get a descent grade, and the battle mode part with Wesker, i mean he only has i knife, its impossible oh well

DC  Resident Evil with style... 4.3

Resident Evil has hit the Dreamcast and has debuted on the system with style.

Story (8/10):

Code Veronica takes place after Resident Evil 2. Claire Redfield has gone on a search to find her brother and has found herself to the Umbrella Corporation headquarters in Europe, which she thinks is where Chris (her brother) is being held. You will later take control of Chris in the second half of the game. During Claire's attempt at rescuing her brother she is caught and thrown into prison and this is where the game starts.

Gameplay (9/10):

Gameplay has taken a step backwards but for good. No longer does the game feel like an Action game it's taken the first Resident Evil's gameplay and spiced it up with beautiful graphics and different characters. This is for the better and when playing the game will feel more like a Survival Horror game then RE2 and RE3. The lighter returns as well as some of the enemies from all 3 games but there are a couple of new enemies in there.

Graphics (10/10):

Resident Evil: Code Veronica is the first RE in history to not have prerendered backgrounds. What does that mean? Well instead of having 2D backgrounds and 3D characters and objects it is 3D and the background renders on-the-fly. Trust me when I say its one of the best looking Dreamcast games out there. Roaches scurry up the walls, Light realistically casts shadows over the walls and there was this one instance in the game where I shot a Zombie and his head hit the light and after the zombie fell against the wall the light swang back and forth and the lighting effects were unbelievable.

Control (7/10):

The only thing that really hasnt changed since previous versions is the control scheme. You might of got used to the Playstation control pad but with the Dreamcast controller its just makes it more difficult. You will get used to it but it just takes time. Its a shame that Code Veronica didnt include the extra controls that Resident Evil 3 had, things like the Dodge and the 180-degree turn.

Sound (9/10):

Well its just perfect! The mumbled voices of the Zombies sound even better this time, the voice-overs are a tiny bit better this time around but remember Resident Evil is Capcom's attempt at making a horror movie and most horror movies a B-grade horrors so that's why Capcom isn't making voice-overs to realistic.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica happens to be the best in the series and a worthy choice of buying a Dreamcast for. If you dont have the game or arn't thinking of getting it then you arnt a true RE fan and if you didnt like RE2 and RE3 then play Code Veronica as it might be more to your liking.

Buy/Rent? Buy!

Story - (8/10)
Gameplay - (9/10)
Graphics - (10/10)
Control - (7/10)
Sound - (9/10)

Overall - 8.6/10
