THE GOOD:
Difficult puzzles. Beautiful graphics. Good plot, up to the abrubt cliff-hanger.

THE BAD:
That Information Socity pun I used in my title.

SUMMARY:
Now I realize that this game is pretty old, but it was still the first game I bought for my Dreamcast back about a month ago. Normally I at least look to see what kind of game I'm buying. I'm a fairly intelligent consumer: buy what you like. Well, in this particular case I was only going on the one piece of knowledge I had about Soul Reaver: Incidental Music by Information Society! That sold me on the game and I'll have to say I'm happy it did. I normally wouldn't have bothered with a game like this -- vampires aren't my style. But the Opening movie hooked me. The animation was impressive and the voice acting was amazing. As I played through the game it impressed me with its fluid control and a gripping story. The only real complaint I had about this game is its lack of direction. Your over-lord guy instructs you to seek out such and such west of such and such. There is NO indication of direction in this game, so finding out where to go became increasingly difficult as the game progressed. When I eventually located the dungeons I found them thought out and laced with difficult puzzles -- at times perhaps a little too difficult. If you haven't played this game I would strongly suggest picking it up, I was glad I did. Oh and the InSoc music wasn't as cool as I expected it to be. Lucky the game was so cool, otherwise I might have been disappointed. (Disclaimer: The music is actually very cool and suits the mood of the game. I was just expecting pop-80's techno)
