THE GOOD: Graphics, sounds, difficulty curve is perfectTHE BAD: ummm i'll have to get back to you on that SUMMARY: Yes. The Dreamcast is Dying. Yes. SEGA is moving on to develop new games for other systems. But in all fairness, does that mean that no-one is buying Dreamcasts anymore? NO! I know plenty of people with the analogy that,
'Oh, I can't afford £200 for a PS2.....hey, DC is only £89.99. and there's plenty of games for it....'
These people are the clever ones. They realise that PS2 has gone the way of the PSX - LOTS of games, only a handful of them with brilliant gameplay and top-notch replayability. But the PS2 only has 2 CONTROLLER PORTS. Whats the deal with that?
Anyway, back to Virtua Tennis 2, my reason for writing this. Frankly you can't beat having 3 mates around having a 4 Player doubles match which one game lasts for an eternity. Plus the World Circuit mode is HUGE! Especially now that they have made the ability to Create your own female and male tennis players, and train them up, buy new rackets, new clothes, shoes, courts, etc etc. The possibilities are endless.
Hitmaker have once again come up with a brilliant game with few minor flaws. The learning curve, for example, maybe a bit big for people for whom this is their first Virtua Tennis game or have NEVER played it in the arcades.
Even Virtua Tennis veterans who could beat king 6-0 are gonna have some trouble as Hitmaker have cranked up the difficulty level a notch or 2. But is that necessarily a bad thing? After all, it will mean VT veterans will be able to cry all over again as they lose a vital match for winning the World Circuit 6-5.
So what are you doing reading this? If you have it, PLAY IT! and if you don't have it, BUY IT! and if you can't afford it, donate some organs or something and BUY IT!
Right. Back to Virtua Tennis 2............
