THE BAD:
Not That Different From Diamond And Pearl
Torn World Not Long Enough

SUMMARY:
Before i start this review, i would like to say just one thing, i am a HUGE Pokemon fan, and always have been, and as soon as Pokemon platinum was announced, i, like many other jumped out of my seat with excitement. However, this time around, the 3rd game of the generation has struggled to keep hooked, this may be because I'm older and i notice that not much has changed, unlike in other generations when i played the 3rd games as if it was a brand new adventure.

Pokemom Platinum is the "3rd" game in the 4th generation of Pokemon games following on from Diamond and Pearl, instead this time around we see Team Galactic (D/P version of team rocket) tracking down Giratina instead of Dialga and Palkia. The storyline has changed little since Diamond and...

THE GOOD:
-Larger Pokedex.
Trainers now have a bigger variety to choose from when making their in-game/Elite Four teams.
-Updated Battle Frontier
The Battle Frontier has a better and more attracting image. Rivals in the Battle Frontier are harder and have more sensible Pokemon/move-sets.
-Graphics
With the better 3D look, it's almost impossible not to fall in love with the game. Images in the game seem to be real and can almost be seen coming out of the hand held console.
-Less Confusing
Many have been dumbfounded while playing the original Pearl & Diamond but with the new order in gym leaders, this problem is no more.

THE BAD:
-Longer Dialogue
People feel like their chatting up with coms more than they're actually playing the game. The added dialogue gives a bigger and more accurate explanation but many agree that too much can be boring.
-Torn World
Trainers hate getting lost and stuck in the legendary...

THE GOOD:
-Another Pokemon game to fill in some hours of the day
-Fills in hours of the day
-Improved Battle Tower
-New Pokemon
-New Area's to explore
-Wi-Fi

THE BAD:
-Same thing like the old games
-Same basic game, get 8 gym badges blah blah
-Poor Graphics
-New Dimension is very annoying
-No real improvements

SUMMARY:
Controls: 8/10
The controls are like every other Pokemon game except that the fifth generation is on the Nintendo DS. The D-Pad, or directional pad, is used for movement. With the D-Pad you walk around in certain areas to find certain Pokemon. A is used to click forward thing. For example, if you go to a trainer, you need to use the A button to scroll forward the text. The B button is used to cancel things. If you made a mistake, press the B button and you will be taken back before you made the mistake. If you hold B and push the D-pad you're character will...

I've always wondered how Nintendo gets away with Pokemon. As a kid, the warning on the box stating the game includes "Gambling References" amused me to no end; It seems like a series based on animal cruelty and slavery has more pressing issues to warn parents about than their child's opportunity to play the slots. Still, one can hardly fault Pokemon for its savage undertones when the source material is nicely padded with themes of friendship, teamwork, and other moral lessons that have much less value in the real world, where trans-dimensional conflicts cannot be resolved by comparing your monkeys.

Pokemon Platinum is the third game in the DS-era of Pokemon games, following on from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. As was the case with Pokemon Yellow, Crystal and Emerald before it, Platinum is the "real" game of this generation. Nintendo's ruthless marketing strategy has now fallen into an easily identifiable pattern: Release two games that have new Pokemon but virtually no...
