SUMMARY:
Graphics~4/5
The graphics are cool for a side-scroller because they are 3-D. Graphics are good but sometimes a little edgy, that's why I didn't give it a perfect score in this area.

Music/Sound~4.5/5
The music is pretty good if you want to listen to it, but I don't really judge games too much on music and sound because you can just turn it off anyway. Only reason I gave this a 4.5 instead of a 5 is because there is not a very large mixture of sound effects.

Controls~4/5
Kind of hard to learn. Takes most people at least an hour to get used to them. Effectively uses the touch-screen to show spider-mans fighting skills and web slinging. Once you get used to them they are a piece of cake to use and really fun to mess around with. The cool thing is that you are jumping around with the control pad and using the touch-screen to fight at the same time.

Story~5/5
Same as the Spider-man 3 movie with some extra story-line, such as Lizard being a boss. I guess if you didn't like the movie the score in this category would be lower.

Gameplay~5/5
Perfect score...this is the most important part of the game and it was done effectively. The mixture of easy and hard missions keeps the game interesting and they do their best to teach you controls at the beginning with a tutorial (but the only real way to get used to them is to play the game for an hour or so).

There is lots of hidden stuff to find, and there is even hidden stuff in earlier missions that you have to come back for because you didn't have something originally to get it (e.g. You have to come back for a meteor shard in the first level with black suited spider-man because you can only see it as him and at the beginning you can't use the black suit).

There is even missions where you race through the city swinging around on your web (too bad there is only eight of these and you can't replay them, cause they're really fun.) The ability to replay missions in ultimate challenge mode really adds to the fun because it gives you another chance to find stuff you missed.

I'm almost done with this game and I've been interested the whole way through (except maybe the beginning, but that is just because of how hard the controls are to get used to.) The game is a little short, but that's where replay value comes in.

Replay Value~5/5
Another perfect score! Ultimate challenges gives you something to do since in them you try to beat the mission as fast as possible and you can try to beat your high score times. It's also really fun to just wander around the city and fight random enemies (since this game does have a random enemy generator.) Once you unlock the five cheats for beating the game it gives you even more to do.

Buy or rent?
Definately buy if you are a spider-man fan or own a DS. This would be a great first game to purchase if you are buying a DS soon. Trust me on this review because normally I am not a Nintendo or DS "fanboy". I actually usually prefer Sony and PSP to DS.
