SUMMARY:
I'll give you a rounded tour of this game.

Mario 64 was developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development. It was published by Nintendo and it was designed by:Shigeru Miyamoto
Yoshiaki Koizumi Takashi Tezuka. It was produced and directed by Shigeru Miyamoto. It was a best selling video game in the US. They designed the...

The entire story is amazing. I just began and leaped into it, I felt as though I was part of it. I just turned on my DS, and I saw the amazing graphics at the start. It reminds me of my long past child hood, of sitting for hours on end playing it, and it had the best graphics of it's time. The story and plot is amazing. I just began playing, and was instantly reminded of the past. The levels and everythinng are so very intriquite, and well designed. I can sit here for hours on end amazed by it's surprisingly well done graphics, the best that I've seen on the Nintendo DS since release. I saw no major flaws in the game at all. I just began to notice that as I continued to play, I became more and more a part of the story, I felt as though I was in there, standing in the clouds, my red hat flowing away. The enemies are also well done, considering how much careful plotting it can take at times. Sometimes you can just be relaxing, and run up to a spot where there is more than one enemy....

- Doesn't Have Online Mode.

SUMMARY:
Oh God. This is indeed an awesome game. When I played it the first time, many good memories of the original version came to me. This game is very good.

The graphics are incredible. They have really improved since the Nintendo 64. You can see everything better. Mario and the main characters are super designed. Same with the monsters and bosses. When I battled Bowser the first time, I couldn't believe how well designed he was.
The worlds are also very well.
We compared the DS's Graphics with the Nintendo 64's Graphics, I really couldn't believe the huge changes. Now...

THE GOOD:
A great update of a classic game.; just enough has been changed to make old players have to think to proceed.; mini games are fun and highly addictive..

THE BAD:
Control isn't as tight as the original.; sound occasionally a little tinny..

SUMMARY:

Today, polygonal gaming is a given. We've advanced through a few generations of 3D gaming hardware, and generally speaking, 3D graphics are in a pretty good spot right now. But when polygonal games were first delivered to the masses, it was a huge paradigm shift that not only affected the way we looked at games, but also the way we played them. Systems that could portray large, more realistic 3D environments used to cost thousands of dollars, but were now on sale for $299 or less in the form of the PlayStation and the Nintendo 64, among others. In 1996, Nintendo released Super Mario 64, the game that rewrote the book for the platforming genre, and in many ways, console gaming in...

THE GOOD:
Four different characters
Great level design
Loads of minigames
Fun multiplayer

THE BAD:
Controls are awkward
Soundwise could be better

SUMMARY:
The original Super Mario 64 is often cited as one of video games defining moments. It set a standard for 3D platformers that were to follow, with its ideas on analogue control, camera movement and item collecting. Nintendo have deemed it appropriate to launch their DS handheld with a revamped version of that classic game. Can ths update do just as well as the original?

Visuals

The graphics of this game have certainly been done well. Each character has been modelled wonderfully in 3D, with bright and bold looks like definitely match the fantasy theme present throughout the game. It's not just the playable character models either. Enemies and NPCs have suitable detail as well, making for a nice looking cast of characters.

Visuals: 8/10.
The visuals are much better than the ones in Super Mario 64. Instead of poorly-constructed mounds of clay, we have nearly-perfectly constructed mounds of clay. Well, that's on the top screen, which looks better than on the Touch Screen, which is the map constructed pretty well and has the character's face at the location of where it's standing. Also, the levels have been remade a bit Graphics-wise/Generation-wise (hey, it's 2005, not 1996) so new and old gamers with a DS can enjoy the visuals of the game. Unfortunatelly, we also have games like God of War and Tekken 5 with realistic graphics, maybe this game should have graphics like them. Well... the graphics kick ass and are easy on the eyes.

Sound: 7/10.
The sounds have been digitally re-mastered for 2005. Who needs the stuffy 1996's sounds when we have 2005's handheld sounds mixed with the 64's sound prosessor. It could be a lot more digitally enhanced and they should actually speak. It doesn't really...

THE GOOD:
  • 3 additional playable characters
  • It's like playing the N64 all over
  • Freedom to roam the lands

    THE BAD:

  • Lacks not having analouge stick
  • Touch screen fails to impress

    SUMMARY:
So after a good 9 years Super Mario has been given new hope as his adventure starts all over onto the small handheld DS. Undoubtly one of the best games on the N64 and now it can be played in the palm of your hand, what more could you wish for?

If you didn't know already you are this little man with a red cap. He is on a mission to defeat the evil Bowser and win back his beloved Peach (how sweet). However, new to the DS sequel is Yoshi, Luigi and Wario who are all unlockable characters in the game, and it works very well. On the N64 version Mario would treck through level after level collecting hundreds of stars and in his journey would come across 3 switches which enabled him special powers for a set amount of time. What...

You've mastered the N64 version of Super Mario 64, but can you take on your next big challenge? Take on the world as you start off with Yoshi, whose ablility allows him to swollow his enemies whole, and turn them into eggs.

    The Good:

First off, you start off with Yoshi! How cool is that? This beast swollows his enemies whole and turns them into an egg! You can also play as Mario, (of course) Luigi and Wario.

Although it's somewhat harder to move around with the control pad, you can use the touch pad to move your character with ease. In my opinion, it's much easier then the joystick.

Each character has their own unique ability once obtaining a certain flower. Mario can fly, Yoshi can breathe fire, Luigi can become invisible, and more! Why don't you find out the rest?

    The Bad:

Some powerstars are nearly impossible to find. Although you can use the touch screen to do the impossible if you use the...

    THE GOOD:
    - Great graphics for a hand held.
    - Four characters to choose from.
    - 30 extra stars.
    - Extra bosses.
    - A good game for when you are on a trip somewhere and are going to be gone for a while.
    - A multiplayer.
    - Touch screen mini-games.

    THE BAD:
    - The save Peach from Bowser is getting old.
    - Some stars are very hard to get.
    - The idea of dropping 4 save files (N64) to 3 (DS).

    SUMMARY:
A good portable game for when you are on a trip or when you are bored. Just like Super Mario 64 it is very bright and cheery with the classic music. The portraits are amazing. The places are huge and if you play it at home it isn't so fun.
I recommend this game on certain reasons because it is portable for good vacations. A nice multi-player to touch it up. (Hehehe, get it touch it up.)

    THE GOOD:
-4 different characters to play as
    -Many fun touchscreen minigames
    -150 power stars to collect

    THE BAD:
    -No analog control
-Some powerstars are nearly immpossible to find out or get

    SUMMARY:
If you thought its fist release for the Nintendo 64 was fun, wait till you see this. Super Mario 64 DS is a remake of Super Mario 64, obviously with many new features. Although this was a launch title for the DS, trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

    Concept-2/5
The save Peach from Bowser is getting old. The onyl thing that saves the concept from getting a 1/5 is that they added a twist... enter paintings to get enough power stars to find Bowser.

    Entertainment- 4/5
this is probably the best part of this game. Especially with all the new things they added, like those touchscreen minigames.

    Graphics- 4/5
You have to love the 3D graphics of this handheld game. It's amazing technology has come to...
