THE GOOD: Multiplayer is fun, The sound and graphics are awesome, and the game is quite challenging.
THE BAD: Needs more tracks and variety, the same tracks get annoying after a while.
SUMMARY: This game is just all around fun. It's even more fun with friends who own the game, but even if you're by yourself, this game is still a lot of fun. There's 2 sets of tracks, the old SNES ones and new ones as well, (the old ones have to be unlocked by winning first place in all the tracks in a cup with a total of more than 100 coins, and restarting a track isn't allowed) each with 5 cups, each having 4 tracks, making a total of 40 tracks to choose from. Plus, you can play them in time trial mode and in 3 different cc's: 50, 100, and 150 for the people who want a challenge. All around, this game is a lot of fun for those who like racing games, there isn't a better one for the GBA.
THE GOOD: The graphics are excellent and being able to pick your character every time is nice. You can also race with others, and record your time
THE BAD: You can't exactly save in this game, and picking the characters is sometimes a drawback. It's also called Mario Kart but Mario is one of the worst characters IMO
SUMMARY: I thought this was a great racing game...
Graphics - 9.9, they were great, I haven't seen much better for GBA but sometimes the tracks have similarities,
Sound - 8, it was enjoyable hearing your character make some rude response when you pass someone, but not as enjoyable as when it's done to you
Replay Value - 9, you can keep playing with different characters, trying to get 1st place one Rainbow Road with spped 150, or trying to beat your time, after you finish though, it gets a little dull.
THE GOOD: By far the best racing game ever to hit the GBA, a classic remake of the old original.
THE BAD: A bit confusing to start off with, more tracks would be nice as well, but that won't stop tou from having fun.
SUMMARY: Allow me to laugh please. Konami Krazy Racers was a release game for the GBA, and copied MarioKart in literally every single respect - the entire layout, the HUD (heads up display, all of the things on the in-game screen), it had secrets hidden inside it, gold coins to pick up, it had weapons and boosts along the way which we not unlike MarioKart's (Missiles being like the green shells and homing missiles like the red shells, molehills like the banana skins and electric charges as well, I could go on), and it was basically the same game. Only with a difference - MarioKart is fun and Konami Krazy Racers isn't. Simple as that.
The reason for this is that KKR tried to follow MK, so missed out on those little...
THE GOOD: All 8 original racers included. Over 30 total tracks. Good multiplayer options.
THE BAD: Controls are a little stiff on GBA. Seems to be missing some of the N64's humor.
SUMMARY: Mario Kart Super Circuit is essentially a portable version of Super Mario Kart from the old SNES. The original 8 return on new tracks with the original SNES tracks available as an unlockable option.
The gameplay is more like SNES MK rather than MK 64-you have to collect coins to go faster during races. All the items are still available, but when you use them, the karts only spin out and there's less voice dialogue, which was a big reason why the N64 version was so much fun to play. Multiplayer racing returns for players with multiple GBAs, and you can even play with just 1 pak (if you don't mind 1 track and only Yoshi)!
If you can live without some of the humor and/or want a slightly more intense karting experience, then this one is worth picking up.
THE GOOD: The best of MK1 and more. (you know all those things you were wishing for if MK2 was on Super Nintendo). More challenging than MK2!
THE BAD: Same amount of tracks & speed/challenge. Holding an item (banana, shell)
SUMMARY: - 4 outta 5 smilies
So far, I really like this game! The game play response is a litte different than the regular mario karts...but u get used to it (don't worry its still easy to control). i think the most awquard thing is holding an item (shell, banana). The button placement is wierd. The look and feel of the game is just like MK1 ..makes u remember why u loved MK so much in the first...
SUMMARY: The game has very good Graphics and Sound quality, and the gameplay is almost second to none!
The game features eight famous Characters from the Mario Brothers Series (Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong and Bowser/King Koopa), each with their own strengths and weaknesses in the statistics of their vehicles.
For example, Mario is an all-round Character, whereas Princess Peach accelerates quickly, turns well and can move over rough terrain quickly, but has a low stop speed and is easily knocked around by the heavier Characters. By contrast, Bowser enjoys the advantages of being faster and heavier than anyone else in the game, but his acceleration, turning speed and performance over rough terrain leave something to be desired.
The only problem with this system is the lack of balance. Virtually all of the Courses...
SUMMARY: Its a decent racing game and it is Mario so all diehard nintendo fans must have this game. The levels are pretty fun and the character choice is the usual. There have been a lot of racing games for GBA and this is one of the better ones. Its worth your money and if your dedicated to nintendo, its a must have.
When a certain plumber hit the SNES in something that wasn't a platform adventure he created quite a commotion and laid the groundwork for all future games of that genre to come. For the fans, there was nothing quite like Super Mario Kart. Strap Nintendo stars into karts, hand them enough weapons to fight off several armies and let them loose on the various tracks the game had to offer. It sounds so simple but it was that mad gameplay that won the hearts of many Nintendo gamers. After a somewhat mediocre outing on the N64 it seems the Mushroom Kingdom crew are back for another stab at the genre they practically defined. Even more interesting is that this is Mario Kart's first entry to be played 'on the go'.
From first looks the game does indeed look impressive. While obviously not capable of the 3D polygons its big brother N64 version could manage, the game nevertheless looks pretty sweet, making use of some impressive graphical tricks to make the most of the hardware of...
