THE GOOD:
Many new Pokemon adds a little more fun to the game when you find a new one and attempt to capture it.
The story line is alright but doesn't match up to the story lines of other games such as Harvest Moon.
The graphics are good compared to versions such as Blue,Red and Yellow.
The many new features such as running shoes and the Premier Ball (Even more balls have been added) have a positive effect on the gaming experience.
Creativity in the gyms and landscape and top notch graphics encaptures and satisfies Pokemon addicts and the casual Pokemon fan.
The new features on the bicycle (Now you have the choice of two!) adds something.
The ability to trade between Fire Red and Leaf green adds another layer of depth to interaction with fellow players. The addition of the Pokenav (As seen on the television series) gives you access to you're map and how many ribbons won in Pokemon contests and other achievements such as an addition to the Pokemon Hall of Fame by beating the Pokemon League.
Worth every penny you pay and provides gameplay that will amuse you for a very long time.

THE BAD:
The monotonous music in every version in the Pokemon experience keeps the sound down on the GameBoy systems of many gamers across the globe.
Sometimes frustrating missions, battles and Pokemon that are hard to capture keep you from advancing in the game such as: The Elite 4, trying to catch Feebas, The Trick Master's house and capturing legendary Pokemon mentioned below in the Detailed Comments section of this review.
Only getting one Master Ball without using Action Replay or Gameshark codes which ultimately can damage you're game cartridge and system.
Gamers who have not played a game in the Pokemon series would be clueless on how to play.
And no day and night feature, or a telephone in the past games.

SUMMARY:
I really like this game and wasn't really surprised by the way the game started out but after that I noticed the many new tidbits added to the game to enhance the experience such as running shoes, new levels of fishing poles, a secret base and many accessories to add to it and to decorate it to you're liking such as, posters, dolls, mats, water balloons in every colour of the rainbow, and other miscellaneous items.

I liked the way some things changed. Some thing aren't meant to be messed with such as the method for catching Pokemon and gym battles and the map feature, the requirement to battle after you're eyes meet with another trainer's.

I really like the addition of a few new legendary Pokemon which will help you in link battles or against the Elite Four. The names of those new Pokemon are Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, Latios and Latias, make for a good range of power in any one's lineup. I was surprised at the realism and relation to the series at the begging of the game becuase you have to rescue Prof. Birch from a rogue Poochyena by using one of Birch's Level 5 Pokemon obtained from a nearby basket. You get to choose between these three Pokemon to battle the Poochyena: Torchic, Mudkip, and Treeko (I recommend Torchic). You get to keep whichever Pokemon you choose to battle. It matched well and encourages people to watch the program for help on the game. Pokemon Eggs and breeding really come into play in this new quest in the land of Pokemon. And some Pokemon are only obtainable by egg.

And more on that secret base, gotta love that base. You can choose ANY base at ANY eligible location you want. As long as you have a Pokemon that knows Secret Power. You can choose 16 decorations of your choice to make you base probably the most customizable thing since sliced bread.

And the hi-tech looking battle tower is another added bonus. Basically the same idea for Battle Tower as the last Pokemon games, choose your level of play, choose 3 Pokemon and battle! Getting a certain amount of wins in a row can get you prizes such as Iron, Zinc, and Carbos.
