THE GOOD: On the Game: 1. Fishing is slightly more complicated. 2. You can't get away with slimming up training or else you really screw yourself over later in the game 3. Trainers and gym leaders actually prove a better challenge with miniature puzzles. 4. Pokemon don't actually always tell what types they are, so you literally have to experiement. 5. You get an extra mode of 'transportation'...running!
On the graphics: 1.There may not be morning or night, but in certain parts of the game there's actual weather like rain and bright sun which act the same as Sunny day or Rain Dance. 2. personally I think it took a little imagination to make some of those pokemon designs. 3. The way the roster is set up gives a less cluttered feeling to that window, not to mention you can pick out your lead pokemon from your others much quicker. 3. The backpack's organized pretty much like Gold/Silver/Crystal's bag except with a...
THE GOOD: The graphics are beautiful, and have greatly improved from previous Pokemon games. Also, the plot is solid, with the usual Good vs. Evil scenario. The allegory is clearly stated in the schemes of Team Aqua and Team Magma. Also, the new Pokemon are masterpieces, the creativity is superb! This game deserves three thumbs up!
THE BAD: There must be a bad side to everything. This game is an exception. I cannot find any cons in this game.
SUMMARY: Excellent. Absolutely excellent. Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Versions are gems(no pun intended). With the new constructed Pokedex of 202 Pokemon, it brings the Pokemon count to 368!. Seriously, these are one of the best video games in the Pokemon franchise! With compatibility to the upcoming Fire Red and Leaf Green versions, and the popular Pokemon Colosseum game for the Game Cube Nintendo, this game is 200% out of 100%!
THE GOOD: 1. The graphics off course! 2. fishing: it's more interactive: you have to HOOK at the right time to catch, instead of waiting 3 seconds 3. the bike: it goes faster, but has acceleration trouble, so is only usefull when driving long ways. 4. off course: the new pokemon 5. the hm's have special signs. very usefull for the japanese game
THE BAD: It's still japanese. (good: I'm learning japanese through this game, hehe. know the word pokeball now)
SUMMARY: Right now I have passed like 10 cities (all in japanese!!), and discovered among 68 pokemon in total, of which alot new
some tips for if you start:
If you see a raccoon like pokemon in the grass right outside: he will grow to learn electric attacks, so it's a good pick.
THE GOOD: Keeps you entertained for Years Many new Pokemon to catch Much Better Graphics New Terrains Some new good music The Intro of Abilities and Personalities Loads of New Attacks
THE BAD: Night/Day is no More Sadly, Missing many Pokemon from Previous Versions Lack of Animatric Effects
SUMMARY: You look at the Cons and the Pros and you Notice the Pros outnumber for the Cons. Well that is for Good Reason. This is the Best Game of the Series yet and with many new Concepts introduced this Game and it's Sapphire counterpart has Effectively Exceled it's Expectations and is Living up to it's Considerable "Monstrosity" Form of Popularity.
The Lack of the Animations in the Opening Sequences of the Battles in the Previous Crystal Version adds a Downfall, However now being able to Dive under the Water and search under Water Caves, Seeing a Rain Storm in Action, and a Few other Different Effects...
THE GOOD: You can do 2 on 2 battles. And the graphics are much better! And you can dive with the new HM Dive. There are even cool weather affects like Raining, Sandstorms, and more! The game corner looks and is much more better. It has a much better story. You get to choose a boy or a girl in the beggining in the game! And there's so much more pokemon! There are Pokemon contests and if you win, you can get ribbons for your pokemon!
THE BAD: Well, it doesn't turn night or day. And you can't go to the kanto and Johto areas. And plus going fishing can be a bit frustrating. And you never get to see the third stage of your Rival's starter! And sadly, the game is too short.
SUMMARY: Well, I have this game and after I played it, I was amazed by the graphics, the story, and all of the new features in it! You'll be able to explore the world of Hoenn. You'll see all new pokemon in your journey to be the pokemon Master! Pokemon like Zigzagoon, Swaillow,...
THE GOOD: Graphics, more detail than gold/silver. Not as cheesy gameplay and has better sound too. Every pokemon has their own individual icon, so they don't like identical twins.
THE BAD: kinda the same as the rest of the series, I feel as if this is like a deja vu or something. The company should've added Johto and Kanto, too bad.. (sob) (sob)
SUMMARY: Well, I've been waiting for this game, now that it's here, I'm addicted to it! It is a huge leap for pokemon. This is way better than gold/silver by 999999 times! The graphics are improved, the pokemon are diffferent and there's now even more events to participate in. (pokemon show contests, battle tower, making secret treehouses/bases and much more) Now that I think back and remember I liked pokemon RED. No offense, but Ruby/sapphire would kill red in any competition. SOme details such as reflections from a puddle, footprints in sand and flashing of a tv screen, you'd probably think only...
THE GOOD: Great Graphics for a game boy advanced game, cool looking new pokemon, and cool town upgrades(pokecenters have escalators instead of stairs and sliding glass doors
THE BAD: Like the person up top, my versians in Japanese which is extremely difficult to understand but i figured out a few words like potion and pokeball this is the only drawback that kept it frm a perfect 5
SUMMARY: This is the awsomest pokemon game ive played so far and im thinking of putting it on my site if i do ill let u know
THE GOOD: Two on Two battles. The graphics are great. The new pokemon/trainers. The new plot.
THE BAD: No night or day. The pictures of the pokemon don't move like on Crystal. Most of the old pokemon can't be caught.
SUMMARY: Like in Crystal you can choose between being a male or female. The graphics and sounds are very good, and (most of) the new pokemon are very cool. Many things in this game are more intresting than in the other versions. I think Team Magma and Team Aqua are more intresting than Team Rocket was in the other versions. Your rival also seems more intresting in general. Its also cool how you choose your starter pokemon. The two on two battling is awsome! Pokemon Ruby&Saphhire are by far the best pokemon games so far!
THE GOOD: background when you are fighting (screen color in battles) a good challenge lots of pokemon to catch/new pokemon new world too explore 2 on 2 battles and they have the contest
THE BAD: no night and day like in the silver/gold/crystal not as many of the old pokemon you can't get into kanto and johto
SUMMARY: so it is a very good game as said above and has it's good and bad points. if i were you i'd buy this game
there are lots of new things included and if you get stuck there are books (or guides) you can get to help you. the game has lots of new features such as the trainers eye and the poke'dex with the new search feature to help make finding pokemon in your poke'dax easy
This is a great game, it really bring Pokemon to a higher level. It has a reasonable price, has good graphics and mysteries waiting to be solved and much more.
THE BAD: Lack of day/night feature, no Pokégear, only 202 Pokémon in the game
SUMMARY: There are brand new Pokémon, around 136. Out of the total 386 Pokémon there now is, only 202 are available in the game.
There is no night/day feature which is a let down and you have no Pokégear so can no longer call people up or listen to the radio.
There are improved graphics though, and the battle scene now has a bit of colour added so ir doesn't look as if the Pokémon are simply floating in the middle of nowhere.
Great game, well worth your money, but Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal is much better.
