THE GOOD:
Incredibly deep yet delightfully simple. Easy to pick up and play but beware - you won't want to put it down.

THE BAD:
Steep difficulty curve - The early stages are incredibly easy, but later on the game gets much harder, at times bordering on annoying.

SUMMARY:
There have been other Mario games on the GBA since Super Mario World 2, but this is without a doubt the best. Like having the classic SNES version in your pocket, even when you think you've done everything (and that will take a long, long time) there are still more secret exits to discover, switches to press and enemies to bounce on.

The game may have "kiddy" cartoon style graphics and a dire "damsel in distress" plot, but they suit the simple gameplay perfectly. Jump, bounce, spin, climb and swim your way to the end of each stage, eventually leading you to the boss stage. Each of these takes a certain amount of skill to beat, cultimating in the final face off with the evil Bowser.

Beware, however, younger players may find the game frustating, with potential to get stuck at a certain area of the game fairly high. However, older, more persistent more skillful players will enjoy this game to the full, and it is for they whom this game is definitely worth getting. Get your hands on a copy today, you won't regret it!
