THE GOOD: Graphics are okay
Five characters to play as (after you unlock them)
Boss battles sometimes challengingTHE BAD: Gets boring quickly
I get lost so easily SUMMARY: Sonic Advance 3 can be kinda fun at times, and I always like games where you have a couple of characters to choose from (five, in this case), but the game got really boring sometimes and in one area, I got lost for about three hours. The team thing, though, is a good idea. You can do different things depending on which character you have and which character is your partner. You start off only being able to use Sonic and Tails, but later can also use Knuckles, Amy and some bunny whose name I think is Cream. The bosses are pretty hard, but some are just annoying. The music in this game isn't that great, either. It's not exactly bad, but not good. Anyway, this is an okay game, but one I'll probably get rid of pretty soon. |

THE GOOD: 2 Player and 2 Tag-team doesn't hurt at all. It's brillant.THE BAD: No chao garden like Sonic Battle, but with a Choa Playground is no use at all. In other ways, Sonic Battle has no bad commets, exept the fun! SUMMARY: Okay, Sonic Advnace 3
GAMEPLAY 9/10: First of all, this game is 2D and was released after Sonic Heroes lol. But the 2 tag works better than the 3 tag. Awsome!
GRAPHICS 10/10: For a while, the graphics are very good! The AREA 51 level is very colourful. Ocean base is the least but flattering!
SOUND 10/10: Wicked! Now If I tell you you will buy this game strait away, THE CHARCTERS CAN talk real sounds!! Plus there is not too kiddie music. But to be honnest, The sound is very good from very good.
LIFESPAN 8/10: Its hard finding the boss level so it takes time, and its quite long. I am on the 5 level and I took about 3 weeks, so it fairly good!
OVERALL 10/10: If you are a Sonic gamer, buy this game soever whatever. If you arn't buying this game will let you buy more!!

Sonic still going strong | 3.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: ~ Good graphics when compared to alot of other GBA games ~ Proves that sonic still has what it takes to make a decent game ~ The moves with your partner, or moves depending on which partner you chose, is a good idea.THE BAD: ~ Not much improvment from its predessecors, still room to make a much better game ~ Can become easily bored. SUMMARY: When I got this game, I thought, woah this is a brilliant game. But the thing it lacks most, is its involvment. You will quickly tire of this, although it is alot of fun. But the thing that mostly wound me up, is there wasnt much improvement at all from Sonic Advance 1 & 2. They could have done so much more. But, if you are a keen fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, then go ahead and buy it. But if you just want a game to pass the time, dont get your hopes up with this one. |

THE GOOD: Everything, the graphics are at least twice as good as the other games, the sound is mostly that of the first Sonic Games on the Sega, which hase a sort of homely effect. I can't explain how good it is. Find out for yourselfTHE BAD: N/A SUMMARY: The sheer quality of this game is stunning, if you like Sonic The Hedgehog, this is a 'must buy' game.

THE GOOD: Graphics, Sound, and Gameplay.THE BAD: Story is similar to other Sonic games. No Chao Garden! Just a Chao playground which has no use at all. SUMMARY: Graphics 9/10 Good for a GBA game. The graphics are nice and clear but, I think they could be a tad better.
Story 5/10 Again a story where you have to save the world. Thats just getting old.
Sound 10/10 Well the sound is great. You can hear characters say stuff such as "Yeah".
Gameplay 8/10 Well this 2 person thing is much better than the 3 person team in Sonic Heroes but, this is feature is not really needed.
Other Comments: M'eh no Chao Garden again! They have something called Chao playground though but, you don't raise Chao you just collect them no use for that.
Overall 8/10 I liked this game. Its pretty fun. I recommend you buy this. |

2D Sonic still has it | 5.0 0 comments |

After the atrocity that was Sonic Heroes, i had high hopes that the 2D sonic realm would continue to impress. fortunately, this time, it did.
Sonic Advance 2 was the pinnacle of the 2D sonic genre on the GBA. sega must know this, since Sadv.3 plays almost exactly the same.
But this time... there's a twist.
Instead of commanding one character and speeding through the level solo, you get to choose a second character to tag along. this works SO MUCH better than the sonic heroes system.
Basicaly, the second character acts like tails in many of the sonic games when you play as sonic. the other character will follow you around and offer a small amount of assistance such as collecting rings that you missed and attacking enemies.
In addition to that, you can hold down the R button to activate your teammate's ability. this is the main focus of the partner style of gameplay.
Depending on your partner, you can perform a new ability your character can't do alone. for instance, if you're using sonic and you have tails as your partner, hold down the R button to have sonic pick up tails. let go and sonic will fly skyward. or, if you have tails as the lead and sonic as the partner, hold down R to have tails hold sonic, then let go to watch tails burst away in a furry fireball of speed.
Teammate abilities are really nothing more than just a nice addition to the basic 1-character gameplay. in the end, you're still buzzing through the levels by yourself, as your partner character is left in the dust often and randomly appears again after a few seconds (only to be left behind again).
Sadv.3 takes a "if it's not broken, don't fix it" approach to the genre. the game basically plays exactly like Sadv.2, only the control isn't as tight (but it's still nice). also taking ques from Sadv.2, this game is fast.
fast = good
While not as fast as Sadv.2, which was all about speed, Sadv.3 does manage to dry your eyes out at times. the levels kind of remind me of Sonic 3, for the genesis, only with more speed sections (alot more).
Gameplay is great, but let's talk about the story...
Eggman is trying to do evil things again, stop him.
*cough* ok, let's talk about gameplay again.
A point of interest is that the game kinda has an adventure field, much like Sonic Adventure. only... this adventure field is practically useless. all you do is run to the next little level marker and jump into it to get to the next level. a level select screen would be much easier...
Also, there are lost chao here. 8 in each stage. find them and they'll go to your little chao area. yay.
Mmkay, let's break it down.
Gameplay: 5, this is what sonic is supposed to be. fast and responsive. (psst, sonic games should be fast).
Story: 2, standard save the world story line...
Graphics: 4. bright and almost never boring
Sound: 4, some nice music and fun sound effects. guess what! they even got the voices in there too (and they're what the characters SHOULD sound like, how wonderful)
Sonic Heroes showed us that the team system DOES NOT WORK. but Sadv.3 shows us that the loose partner system does.
Not as good as Sadv.2 in my opinion, but a fantastic piece of gaming goodness nonetheless.
For a nice addition to the already perfect Sonic Advance system, Sonic Advance 3 earns every part of its perfect 5 out of 5. |

THE GOOD: The voices, the controls, and the double characters make this game worth playing! Also, there is the old-time music, like the second level, Sunset Hill has the same music as Green Hill Zone from the old Sonic games.THE BAD: Omochao is in it. (At least you can't hear his voice. <img src="/a_tongue.gif" border=0 vspace=2> <br>Having to unlock Knuckles, Amy, and Cream.<br> SUMMARY: This game is great! I don't know where to get keys to the special stages though.<br><br>The bosses are mad, but can sometimes be hard to hit.<br><br>Also the tag moves making it alot better, like being able to run at Supersonic speeds as Tails, or jump to the moon as Sonic.<br><br>I can't say much, as I am only on the 4th level, but up to here, it has been a bomb!<br><br>Likely to blow me up any second. |
