don't let the name fool you, this game is actually a remake of the classic super mario bros. 3, for the NES. arguably the best classic nintendo mario game.
i'm reviewing the japanese version, so i can't read anything. but it's the gameplay that matters, right?
this is kinda like past super mario advances. you're given the ability to play the actual game or the original mario bros. game.
let's begin the game! "super mario brothers!" it's strange how the janpanese version of the game has an english speaking mario...
first off, you'll notice the graphical improvements over the original mario 3 game. these improvements end up making the game look similar to super mario world, for the SNES.
the world map has changed too. well, not much, but there's new menus and such.
hop into a level and get ready for nostalgia. the game play is just like the original mario 3, but all the visuals are...
THE GOOD: This game has some of the best gameplay I have ever seen. I think it is argueably the best game for GBA. It brings back the Mario Bros. from 1989, with eight different worlds, it may take a while for the Joe Gamer to complete it.
THE BAD: The only thing I would say is bad about this is the story, but since this is an action game and not an RPG, I will grade it a 5.
SUMMARY: Gameplay:5/5 With this alone I would grade this game a 5/5. It is a rare occasion that I would give a game a perfect just for gameplay.
Story:5/5 To tell you the truth, the story wasn't that great, but it was logical and I had to remind myself it was an action game, so it is worth a 5. For all you RPG lovers, the story is a 1.5.
Sound:5/5 The sound was awesome, especially for GBA.
THE GOOD: There is many things to do, and many things to choose from, it has good graphics, and everything you need for good play.
THE BAD: Well, you get timed on every level, I guess that kinds of rushes ya, but at least the timer isn't too long.
SUMMARY: This is a great game. It is also an old classic, back from the original Super Nintendo, but, Nintendo took that game and brought it back, so now you can enjoy the adventures of Mario and Luigi for their search for Princess Peach.
This game is great, Mario and Luigi were created way back, and you can still be with them today, you can get this game and have that same feeling in you, so you can always be prepared for the best.
This game is great to follow, and is packed with a whole lot of fun, so if you want action, this is the game for you!
THE GOOD: well i like the graphics on it. the levels and music are awesome also something new in a level. Also i like how they chose the bosses even though there the Koopa kids and bowser and sometimes Boom Boom
THE BAD: Well i just found how hard it is to get a good item or beat a certain level but everything else is good.
SUMMARY: Well i have to say that i am glad that they made Super Mario Bros 3 for GBA cause he was very popular on the Super Nintendo and it solf over 17.28 million copies. The game is amazing i thought it would of been the same as on Super Nintendo but it ended up as not. So i was all glad about that so i had to buy it. Also i like how they added in the e-reader levels but since i have no e-reader i can't tell how great they are.
Anyways i guess since it's a great game i will give it a 5.9 over of a 5 cause it's so cool.
THE GOOD: Well, you each know ths is a remake, so there is bound to be things better than Super Mario AllStars and SMB3. Now, there are save features, and you can take it ALMOST anywhere. Artic ocean, mount everest and in a volcano is nowhere to go with this game.
THE BAD: What could be bad about it?
SUMMARY: Most bought Super Mario AllStars and SMB3, but some couldn't because they didn't have the right systems. Luckily, nintendo remade this game for all to play, well, who have a GBA. The koopakids are in here, you might have seen them in earlier versions of this game, Super Mario World, Mario is Missing, Mario Hotel, and SMA2. They also might appear in Mario Party 5, since Bowser Junior, Baby Bowser(ect) is a playable charecter. You have to go through lands of the koopakids, ordered by youngest to oldest. Larry; Grassland, Morton; DesertLand, Wendy; WaterLand, Iggy; Giantland, Roy; SkyLand, Lemmy; Iceland, Ludwig; Pipeland, and Bowser;...
THE GOOD: This game is called the best Mario game for a reason and that is cause it is. This Mario game not only feautred 8 worlds with tons of levels but they also had sub-bosses and the best power-ups. This game featured over 7 different items which is probably the record for a Mario game. Not only that but the power ups are fun to use and great. The game play is traditional Mario with some nice extras put in.
The new e-Reader feature is definitly a plus. Players can actually upload power-ups whenever they feel like and the game comes with the a Racoon Mario power-up card to begin with! Not only that but it comes with a level card, Wild Ride in the Sky.
THE BAD: The only bad thing is that the game is focused more on Mario rather than both bros. You can either play only as Mario, or alternated between Mario and Luigi after between levels(this is automatic). There have been some hints of an unlockable modes, perhaps a Luigi...
THE GOOD: Graphics, Sound, Sound Effects, Sharp World Maps, Good Learning Curve
THE BAD: Lack of Bonus Material
SUMMARY: I recieved this game as a gift in the Christmas of 2003 (last Christmas) along with my Game Boy Advance SP. As with all new games, I neglegted 'family time' somewhat to play. Basically this game is a replica of the SNES version of SMB3 with a few new additions, and when I say a few I mean a couple. In fact, the only things that come to mind are the Perfect Clear screen upon beating a castle and the World Chooser (SNES may even have that, I haven't beaten it on SNES). I am not saying that takes away from the game because it will still keep you up late at night trying to beat the World 8 tanks, but Nintendo.. you've made 3 versions of this game. Don't you think your audience deserves a World 10 or something?
THE GOOD: The graphics are extremely loyal to the original version, in some aspects, it has been improved. Also, the music stays true to it's Mario-theme roots, and it packs 8 worlds filled with fun and challengeing levels. It also is compatible with the E-Reader to scan in new power-ups, levels, etc.
THE BAD: The only thing is that it's essentially an old game. A good remake no doubt, but I never liked the original as I liked Super Mario World. It seems a bit too linear in places.
SUMMARY: Well, I got this game only because I wanted to complete my Super Mario Advance collection. And I did. I had never beaten the original, it was too hard, so I simply game up. So I started the game, got back in the groove of things, proceeded with no problem because I had played the game both on NES and SNES. That gripped me is how much more fun it is on a handheld. It gave me a lot to do when I was bored, on a boring trip outside, and I had enough time to...
THE BAD: Mario speaks such profound things, not!, original Mario Bros. game is getting boring appearing in almost all Super Mario Advanced games
SUMMARY: Nintendo has once again brought a classic game to the Gameboy Advanced system, and for those like me who didn't get much of a chance to play it when it first came out, it is an opportunity to play a good game, and it allows people who have played to go back in time. Graphics: Thankfully this has been improved on GBA since the nintendo version. Backgrounds are the most noticeable improvement. Luigi looks like his Super Mario 2 self again in this game instead looking like Mario's twin. Very crisp and clear. (4.0/5.0) Gameplay: This walks into very familiar territory to those who've played previous Mario games. Controls are easily learned and stages provide challenging gameplay. However, there no way (that I have discovered) to...
