THE GOOD:
Just as fun as the game battleship... with less of a mess.
2 player mode is really good.
The different weapons.

THE BAD:
One player mode gets boring.
Music is pretty bad.

SUMMARY:
I really don't know why I got this game or what I was expecting from it, but it was pretty nice. Just like it's board game cousin, this game pits you against someone (either computer or human) trying to sink your ships. You counter by sinking their ships. You start out putting in the ships the same way you do in the board game: either vertical or horizonal. When you start playing the game, you will find some differences to this game. You have alternate weapons. Thats right, you can use radar to sniff out four squares or use weapons that hit mulitiple squares. It takes skill to know when you should use these. If you wait to long and one of your ships are sunk, you will not be able to use any weapons from that ship.

The are a few glaring problems with the game. One is that the submarine is a one square ship. You could be spending the entire game looking for it. The other problem is the music. While gameboys don't have the greatest sound, this game could have used better music.

Bottom Line:
Good for multiplayer.
