THE GOOD: Our favorite arcade game, now remade so that we can take it anywhere. Woo-thewhooptydo-hoo.
THE BAD: It's GALAGA for cryin' out loud! It was meant to be played in large, bulky machines while you're waiting for your plane, not for fun!
SUMMARY: Hasbro has committed a deadly VG Sin In allowing this game to be released for GBC. This is like so many other sick remakes of arcade games I've seen--the idea was to copy everything onto the GBC cartridge, changing as little of the gameplay as possible. Sure, it's got a new soundtrack, but that hardly makes it worth paying $20 to play anytime you want it.
I recently acquired an Archon remake for NES. FYI, Archon was a game made for the Commoddore. In porting this game, NONE of the Nintendo's extra processing capability was taken advantage of. Galaga for NES is just like that. Another sick remake of an arcade game. They changed a few things. It still plays just the same.
I wouldn't borrow this if someone payed me to play it. A pitiful waste of time.
