A Classic in the Pokemon series | 4.9 0 comments |

THE GOOD: 250 Different kinds of Pokemon to catch Time ~ Now there is a night and day in game You now have the option to use a cell/mobile phone Better Graphics Very cheap nowadays Much longer storyline and is has alot more depth to it
THE BAD: Can get boring once completed Annoying music(Always kept the sound to minimum)
SUMMARY: Pokemon Gold and Silver will always be legendary games in the Pokemon series after the massive step from Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow. Now with over 250 different kinds of Pokemon, plus with brand new features like being able to have time in game, and the use of a cell phone so you can ring trainers up that you've already encountered with and battle them again. There is soooo much more to do in this game then there was in Blue and Red and the attention and the detail is there. Plus the graphics have been attended to well and look quite nice considering how the graphics for Red and Blue were. I certaintly enjoyed tihs game when I finished it and I thought it was a really good game.
In Gold and Silver once you've collected all 8 badges and defeated the tough and challenging Elite Four in Johto you can travel over to Kanto and get the 8 badges that were obtainable in Pokemon Red and Blue, which is a fun and longish challenge to do. There is so much more depth and longer gameplay in Gold and Silver then in any other Pokemon game to date so far. It should take you a good 20+ hours to complete the game and is definitely a fun challenge. I recommend this if you have nothing to do and are really short up on cash. Available now for probably a few quid or a few dollars so this is certainly worth a buy. Find it of you can. |

Pokemon Gold | 4.5 0 comments |

Here it is. Pokemon Gold. I got it the day it came out, but I just decided to write a review about and start a new file.
Gold, Silver and Crystal are the largest Pokemon Games. Everybody who has played them realizes this. There is a full-length game to beat the Elite Four and get a glimpse of the new continent, but then immidietally after you get to retry your luck on Kanto. You are given a chance to see what happened to the world you knew and loved in Red, Blue and Yellow. You see some cool new geographical locations (i.e. the Viridian Pokemon League Entrance connects to the Johto one and almost makes you wonder how you missed it in the first game. The Viridian Gym in the mysterious disappearance of Giovani has been taken over by Gary. The Cinnabar Volcano erupts leaving only a small patch of rock, and the town has taken refuge in the Seafoam Isles. Koga's daughter has taken over in Koga's promotion, etc etc etc.
There is no doubt that the graphics and mechanics are inferior to those if Ruby, Saphire, Emerald, LeafGreen and FireRed.
After the Pokemon of this game, the developers must have realized that kids will love the Pokemon no matter what, and stopped putting as much work and creativity. In my opinion the Pokemon in this game are far cleverer than those of the Advance Generation. You can also get most of the Pokemon from the first generation.
They've introduced more game mechanics. The phone, clock, room decorations, and notably multiple bags to carry things. However, one of the biggest flaws in the game is that even though they've added the ability to instantly get out your bike with the Select button, Johto has apparently not invented the Running Shoes yet. Now, because this game is outdated, I suggest new Pokemon players get the more recent Ruby and Sapphire (or FireRed/LeafGreen if they want the story from the beginning), but to an experienced trainer or fan, this game is, in my opinion, the best of the Generations. However, as a sidenote, Crystal is this game with extras, so if you can find it I suggest you think about getting that. |

Wondefull Pokemon Game | 3.9 0 comments |

THE GOOD: New shiney pokemon (ill get back to you on that)
Umm lets see, graphic and everything else exept what I put in the bad section
THE BAD: only way to go fast is on a bike, you can run like in ruby and saphire plus you have to get far enough in the game to get fly so it takes you forever to get to places SUMMARY: In the game you must collect all the pokemon you can find you must catch and raise 250+ diffrent pokemon! If you can get 250+ pokemon up to level 100 then the fun stops... intill you release them and start over! This game is one of the only game where it can be fun to delete your file and start over from the begining, for example you can start your game over and choose a diffrent starter pokemon, say you pick the water typ for the first time, why dont you start you game over and this time start with the fire typ? See what i mean, then you can move on to the grass typ pokemon! And about shiney pokemon, shiney pokemon are pokemon that you can find and they will be a diffrent color then the normal typ of its kind, but it is very hard to find one, you shouldnt find your first one intill about 5 months into your game! |

Great Game | 5.0 0 comments |

I personally think that this game is a quality rpg. Once you get past the fact that most the people who play it are young children, it is still a great rpg for people of any age.. and people who like rpg's.
In this game, you walk through a world of 'pokemon,' creatures that you can train through levels or battle other people with. It is somewhat real because when they get hurt they lose Hit Points (HP). When they lose all their Hit Points (HP), they faint and you need to take them to a "pokemon center" to get healed.
I would reccomend this book to a) people who have a bunch of time, b) people who enjoy RPG's, and c) people who aren't afraid of being called childish due to the factor of people who play this game.
One of the bad things about this game is that when using a gameshark usually everything gets messed up, and you lose all data on your cartridge. I seriously reccomend not gameshark'ing anything on this game, if you have spent much time on it. |

One of the best Pokemon Games | 4.8 0 comments |

THE GOOD: - the graphics are better. - lots of pokemon to capture and train. - lots of extra items. - new gym leaders and trainers.THE BAD: - Mew and Mewtwo arent in the game. SUMMARY: Pokemon Gold is one of the best Pokemon games because there are a lot of new features. The graphics are very good and now there is more game color. The game is verey addictive because there are a lot of pokemon to capture and to train so they can become the best. Also you can now mate your pokemon so you can get stronger and better pokemon. The only part that sucks in that they took out some of the best pokemon like Mew and Mewtwo. There are a lot of trainers on the road that you can fight and you can also take their phone number so you can fight them again which is a good thing so you can keep on training your pokemon against them. There are 8 new gym leaders and they are not that tough as the old ones but they still give a good challenge. There are also competitions that you can enter so you can earn so extra cash. You also have a radio so you can listen to something good while you are training you pokemon or just getting to a new area. There are a lot of new gadgets that are in the game and they can be pretty handy in rough times. All in all the game is great and you should defenatly buy it because it will keep you playing for weeks and on because of all the great features that the game has. |

Twii_Light's Happy Little Review | 3.7 0 comments |

THE GOOD: • Theres a huge variety of pokemon • Theres a huge amount of pokemonTHE BAD: • Theres heaps of pokemon... • Theres not enough stuff to do... SUMMARY: This game can last a long, long time but can get quite boring cuz after a short while the only thing to do is train, edit your party and catch more pokemon! but don't get me wrong! catching your favorites can be so so so so so much fun but once... When you get the perfect deck... Poof! what do you do next? exsactly my point. But with 251 pokemon, this game can really bite the time. I guess I don't enjoy as much as I should cuz I got no brother to have a Cable battle with. Sure I have a friend but I haven't battled him yet... But nether the less I love making decks like a DRAGON deck or a BIRD deck or a LEGENDARY deck... Ooooooooooooo....... Yea this game is good, can be anoying sometimes when your walking through grass... THANK goodness for Repel. But finding the rigth Pokemon, now thats the boring bit.............. Well I rate this game 3.7 because it has a great variety of pokemon to choose for you, you, you! |

A complex game | 4.3 0 comments |
by TheBradman1andOnly from , Cardiff, Wales | Sep 17, 2003 |
THE GOOD: very long, fun, addictive and even better if you have friends and a link cableTHE BAD: not much bad about it.the only thing is once you have completed it,it gets veeeery boring. SUMMARY: this is a very fun game.it is challenging and addictive making you want to play it all night! the new clock feature makes it even better. This also gives you the chance to catch 100 all new pokemon. This is a must get game for the game boy and if you havent already got it,you should. And if your friends have Pokemon Silver and a link cable, this game is also great for multiplayer. And my favourite feature, this features something called the time capsule.this lets you trade between your gold version and Pokemon Red,Blue or Yellow. So if i had to review this in one sentence, this would be it: If you do not stick with games and do not like a good challenge, this is not the game for you. |

THE GOOD: Graphics, Sound, controls, more Pokemon, more abilities, better story and replay value. Love the starting Pokemon. Another "island". 8 more badgesTHE BAD: May be the same thing for a lot of people who played the cr@p out of blu/red/yellow. Not challenging enough SUMMARY: While this game is significantly "bigger" than Red/Blue/Yellow "big " is a vague term in the sense that RedBlueYellow are better they have that "it" factor written all over them. However this game has more Pokemon, more graphical prowess, better sounds, more gyms, in term more badges and a whole new place, the world is divided between Kanto and Jotho. And you actually get to fight Red and Blue ( the euivalent of Ash and Gary) Buy this game now trust me you won't regret it the only downside is that if you buy Gold you catch Lufia a the end, which...um.... sucks. |
