Here it is. Pokemon Gold. I got it the day it came out, but I just decided to write a review about and start a new file.
Gold, Silver and Crystal are the largest Pokemon Games. Everybody who has played them realizes this. There is a full-length game to beat the Elite Four and get a glimpse of the new continent, but then immidietally after you get to retry your luck on Kanto. You are given a chance to see what happened to the world you knew and loved in Red, Blue and Yellow. You see some cool new geographical locations (i.e. the Viridian Pokemon League Entrance connects to the Johto one and almost makes you wonder how you missed it in the first game. The Viridian Gym in the mysterious disappearance of Giovani has been taken over by Gary. The Cinnabar Volcano erupts leaving only a small patch of rock, and the town has taken refuge in the Seafoam Isles. Koga's daughter has taken over in Koga's promotion, etc etc etc.
There is no doubt that the graphics and mechanics are inferior to those if Ruby, Saphire, Emerald, LeafGreen and FireRed.
After the Pokemon of this game, the developers must have realized that kids will love the Pokemon no matter what, and stopped putting as much work and creativity. In my opinion the Pokemon in this game are far cleverer than those of the Advance Generation. You can also get most of the Pokemon from the first generation.
They've introduced more game mechanics. The phone, clock, room decorations, and notably multiple bags to carry things. However, one of the biggest flaws in the game is that even though they've added the ability to instantly get out your bike with the Select button, Johto has apparently not invented the Running Shoes yet. Now, because this game is outdated, I suggest new Pokemon players get the more recent Ruby and Sapphire (or FireRed/LeafGreen if they want the story from the beginning), but to an experienced trainer or fan, this game is, in my opinion, the best of the Generations. However, as a sidenote, Crystal is this game with extras, so if you can find it I suggest you think about getting that.
