THE GOOD:
It was a good game overall, some good graphics (for when it was made), good gameplay, exciting adventure. You did many things from giving a drink to the Gate Guards to exploring the depths of caves. Pokemon were spread out greatly, and it was fun to have Pikachu following you around. Talking to him helped out nicely, and gave you a laugh sometimes. You could see how he acted, and I liked this a lot.

THE BAD:
Pikachu couldn't evolve, and I felt guilty whenever I didn't have him on my team. Without him following you, the game is a little bit worse. After the game it was very boring, there wasn't much to do besides keep challenging the Elite Four. Leveling up was extremely tedious, because it was hard to keep up with all the other trainers and gym leaders. I would have liked it more if they would have given more wild Pokemon that were good sooner in the game, and more water types. Fire types were also hard to come by, and took a lot of looking. The...

THE GOOD:
-The Original Set of Pokemon - A Classic
-A Fairly Long Game
-Can Keep You Entertained past just beating the Elite 4
-Provide you with 50+ Hours of gameplay most likely, depending on how much you get into it
-Good Graphics for it's time
-Battle your friends on Link Cable
-Casino game
-Pikachu follows you (More of an Easter Egg)

THE BAD:
-Pikachu doesn't really do anything useful when following you
-Pikachu is the only Pokemon you can have follow you

SUMMARY:
The Pokemon Series Franchise started out with Pokemon Red and Blue in the late 1990's. Since then, there's been Pokemon Yellow, and also this Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. The differences aren't really significant enough to mention, so let's stick to Pokemon Yellow in general.

Graphics 9/10

Ok, looking at this review now, in 2008, you might call me crazy to give the graphics a 9 out of 10. Well It's only...

THE GOOD:
  • Graphics (at the time but still better than Blue and Red)
  • New colors
  • New Pokémon sprites
  • New plot
  • Follows the show
  • Music

    THE BAD:

  • Gary (YOU WERE GONNA GET EEVEE!)
  • Sounds
  • The starter Pokémon (Pikachu)

    SUMMARY:
Pokémon Yellow Special Pikachu Edition is a remake of the original games, Pokémon Red and Blue. Pokémon Yellow actually follows the TV show really well and is IMO everything Blue or Red could've been. The only thing I hated about this game was the starter Pokémon which is Pikachu. It's frustrating trying to make him do stuff and it's REALLY frustrating beating the first gym leader, Brock. Pokémon Yellow follows the TV show but at a different angle. Misty and Brock don't follow you and little stuff like that. But like the show, you have to make Pikachu happy and you can't keep him in a Pokéball. You can't evolve him, and you can't get another one so be...

    THE GOOD:
One of the best facts, is you get that adorable pikachu by your side....seeing as he doesn't like you just yet, from growing to enjoy your company to adoring you completely as he is by your side following. You can talk to him to see how he feels about you by the expressions he makes.

This was the first one in colour, which was an improvement on this games behalf. Though the gameboy holds low graphics, I didn't mind what so ever, as I enjoy 2D game play. ^^ It's good to know you can gain certain pokemon that you could not acquire in the blue and red version...unfortunately, there are other pokemon you are unable to gain unless you are to trade with a friend.

Being able to battle and trade when connected has always been a great quality to these games giving you fun times battling against friends and gaining more information on your pokedex when trading some pokemon for better pokemon. This game gives you hours of fun when fighting wild...

    THE GOOD:
    Super highly addicting RPG gameplay.
    Keeps you busy for ages.
Graphics, for the most part, look pretty good, and color schemes don't look crappy either.
    Pokemon don't look weird anymore.
    Catchy soundtrack.

    THE BAD:
Can get boring after long periods of time.
Some Pokemons' cries sound very, very annoying.

    SUMMARY:
    Lastability: 8/10.
GOTTA CATCH EM ALL, GOTTA CATCH EM ALL! GOTTA CATCH EM ALL, GOTTA CATCH EM ALL! However this gets tiring and boring after some time.
    Graphics: 10/10.
As good as Pokemon Red looked, with some color, everything just feels much better to look at! Plus, the Pokemon sprites are no longer freaky (not even Golbat...). The overall graphics look mighty impressive.
    Sound: 8/10.
It's catchy and it's not annoying (or isn't too annoying by today's standards). What more could you ask for? Some of the Pokemon battle cries are quite annoying though, and at 8-bit quality,...

    THE GOOD:
The graphics have inproved alot, and they have even added sound to the cries of Pokemon when they faint!

    THE BAD:
The Towns aren't as big as they really should be.

    SUMMARY:
This game is unlike blue/red is much more like the cartoon series.
jessie and james are involved and nurse joy has her uniform and her chansey.
the game starts out with ash getting pikachu, unlike blue/red which you have a choice. though this is quite annoying because pikachu is very bad against the first gym leader brock, it means you can get all 3 starter pokemon later in the game.

The graphics have inproved alot, and they have even added sound to the cries of Pokemon when they faint!

The Towns aren't as big as they really should be.

Please, if you get this game, don't stop playing!

    THE GOOD:
    everything

    THE BAD:
    graphics

    SUMMARY:
great game, for little kiddies. plot a bit short though. battle and trade with your friends. battle trainers to be the top trainer in the world. catch all the pokemon to be the pokemon master. you can print your pokemon off with a pokemon printer. dodgy graphics, sound quality very poor. but great game, a but old now. i suggest to but the leaf green and fire red the improved game and with added features.

    THE GOOD:
being able to get all 3 starter pokemon, bulbasuar, charmander and squirtal.
pikachu being able to follow you around and you can see how happy he is.

    THE BAD:
    pikachu cant evolve

apart from that the game is just like blue or red, though there are little differences like trainers ask for different pokemon in trades and houses have different characters in them.
the game also has some good pokemon that you cant get, like jynx or electrabuzz. this is just like the other games because you will find in all the games you need other...

    THE GOOD:
The good thing was pikachu follows you and you could see his/her emotions. and there is heaps of Pokemon to catch and you can get all three starters. imagne that, you could catch way more pokemon than pokemon B/G/R.

    THE BAD:
The bad thing of this game is that the graphics and color. And there is some stupid rumors and crazy cheats.

    SUMMARY:
I love this game and it's really cool. It's same as Red and Blue, but Pikachu follows you and it's really cool. This game is hottest pokemon game I ever seen, and it's the bomb!!! This game is freaking hard though but you should get it later on during the game. The Elite4 and Gyms are extremly hard and you can't beat it if you haven't experienced playing pokemon games. you should know all the rules and some other stuff. Well you should figure it out your self in some other Rumors and Cheats, and it hurts alot. And please buy this game. reviewed by Megacool999.
