If you could piece together everything you could possibly want in a racer - gut-wrenching speed, eyeball-popping graphics, unsurpassed track design, superb controls and a compelling story - F-Zero GX would be the result. Sega have taken the classic Nintendo franchise by the horns, learnt from past classics like WipeOut and produced one of the finest racers - no, finest games - available today.
There's so much that's right about the game, it's difficult to know where to begin. The graphics are so mind-bogglingly good that 'good' really isn't a good enough word to describe them. Think 'spectacular,' or 'it could be an Xbox 2 game,' and you're about there. When you first start playing you will be in a state of shock for a good while, and going back to playing anything else after experiencing F-Zero at a locked 60 frames per second will be a major come-down. We've never come across anything which conveys a sense of speed so well.

This game is one of the best racing games ever. The Customize part of the game is unique. By parts for your car and turn it into a dream machine, with endless pieces that you can unlock by racing in the grand prix or story mode. You can also paint your car, and even put emblems (such as lions or eagles) on them!! Of all the customizing sections in racing games, F-Zero's has to be the best, because you get to build your car to the very last detail. The difficulty is a challenge, a hard game to beat, but then again, who likes an easy game? And the thing about it is it can be hard and fun at the same time.Racing against freinds can be the ultimate fun factor. You can also check your opponents, like realistic aggresive driving. Get Power Boost on the second lap, wind your way through tough turns. The Gameplay: Absolutely superb. The story isn't deep but it does make a nice break from the mindless Grand Prixes. The Grand Prixes start off easy, and make their way up to mind-blowingly hard. That's one thing about this game, besides the first GP in novice mode, it is hard. Painfully so. It will have you screaming in frustration as you drop off the course for the millionth time, and you will get back up and play again until you succeed, the game is that involving. There's a tonne of unlockables and some of the things you have to do to get them are painfully difficult, and sometimes the prizes don't seem worth it, but most of the time they really are. The game's physics are spot on, with everything performing reallistically and every machine racing in it's own individual way.
