Another Another Wonderful Life! | 4.0 1 comments |

THE GOOD: - Excellent graphics, previously seen in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.
THE BAD: - Daily schedule becomes repetitive over time. - Bananas are no longer the "gold" of the game. SUMMARY:
PLOT LINE
Quite similar to the boy version, Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life ((AWL)), you are sent to Forget-Me-Not Valley to take over your father's dream, successfully own a farm. Your father's friend Takakura takes you "under his wing" on your journey to completing your long-passed-on father's wishes.
Although this plot line is identical to that of AWL, the effect is not different. Meeting the friends in the valley and owning livestock will become almost a second life for you as the years pass in this farming simulation game.
GRAPHICS
Also identical to AWL, the graphics are once again phenomenal. Realistic typhoons and thunderstorms suck you into the game and create the idea that you yourself are in a brutal storm, as you rush around the farm to take in your chickens and precious livestock.
Unlike other titles under the Harvest Moon series such as Friends of Mineral Town ((FoMT)) and Magical Melody ((MM)) where the rain would start in the morning and continue until you went to bed, the rain is completely random and there is no way of telling when it will begin or end.
Aside from the weather, simple things such as the grass blowing in the wind and the leaves changing color slowly over time instead of all at once, such as in MM and FoMT give the game a realistic feeling that will make the experience more pleasant.
SOUND
As repetitive as it is, the sounds are yet again the same as in AWL. Although the sounds of the animals such as cows could have been better, the weather is fantastic.
Rolling thunder sounds as though it's raining in the real world, and the sound of even the rain changes depending on how hard it's raining in the game.
The only thing that would have made the sound better would be to have the characters speak instead of the puttering sound of the typing text.
SMALL DIFFERENCES
AWL and AnWL couldn't possibly be the exact same, could they? Well, of course not.
In this game, the major change is that you're a girl. Aside from this, there's the addition of a few random cutscenes, the ability to buy clothing and new interiors for your home, and some prices have changed.
Bananas are no longer the big crop in the game. The price has been cut in more than half, and you will no longer rack in the large sums of money that you could in AWL.
FINAL NOTE
Altogether the game is a great spinoff of AWL. It may get a bit boring after a while due to the repeated schedule, but things such as the realistic sounds and graphics of the game will keep it interesting enough to sit and play for an hour or two. |

THE GOOD: You get to play as a girl, and it has things that weren't in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.THE BAD: After awhile, it can get boring. SUMMARY: The goal in this game is to successfully run the farm that your father left you, get married and have a son, and make friends with the townspeople. Some downsides are that after extensive play, it can get boring, because there are limited fun things to do, like festivals and such, but there are new mini-games to play that were'n there in the first game (Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life). Some people don't like the fact that you only get three choices in a husband, but I think that way it's easier to make up your mind on which ones to pick. You also have a mirror you can look into, and you can change into many different outfits, which is something that most girls would like, since this game is more for girls. There are also new things, like tree seeds cost less than in the previous game, which makes some things easier. It's also shorter than the other game, since each chapter in only one year, but there is a free-play mode at the end that gives you free unlimited play of the game. Overall, I think this is a very fun game. |
