THE GOOD:Unique Graphics and Gameplay, Creative Soundtrack, Captivating Storyline, Cheap Price
THE BAD:
Very 'M' Rated, Linear Controls, Very Weird
SUMMARY:
Your an assassin. Actaully, you're seven assassins. Scratch that. You're one assassin with seven diffrent personalities that each take on a unique physical form. Does this sound weird? It's only a taste of the odd that is Killer 7.
In Killer 7, you play Harman Smith, a whellchair-bound assassin with seven diffrent personalities. The world is in peace, and all nations have done away with their weapons. Or that is what they wanted us to believe. A new terrorist organization of suicide bombers, called the 'Heaven Smile' for the way the laugh right before the explosion, are threatening the security of the world, and only the Killer 7 can stop them.
Let's get the good parts told first. Killer 7 is a third-person adventure/first-person shooter, all while including puzzles that will twist your mind to its limits. Killer 7 has a simple, yet at the same time, very elaborate cell shaded type of graphics, which looks extremly good. The soundtrack and overall audio is very good as well. Music anywhere from elevator music to fierce guitar riffs can be found in the same level. The story also grabs hold of you and doesn't let go, just like the Hevean Smile. It has many diffrent views and opinions of the goverment and polotics that make you wonder hours after you have turned the game off. I wish I could tell you some, but they would ruin the story for you. Sorry.
But, there is some bad in the game. First off and most importantly are the controls. Instead of the the typical control stick to move, you need to hold either the A button for the Cube or the X button for the PS2 to move, and the control sticks are only used to aim and choice directions at junctions. This can turn some gamers off, but if you stick with them, you will find them to be quite comfortable. THis is also one of the most 'M' rated games I have ever played. Full blown sex scenes, violence beyond beilef, and ideas that are twisted. For example, one of your targets in the game harvests organs from orphans and sells them to build terrorist weapons. Very creepy, and very weird. And for the PS2 version, it can be laggy in spots and the load times are a bit longer.
All in all, this is one of those hate it or love it games. If you can look past the controls and stick with the odd story, this game will capture you. At least rent it and see if you wanna drop the $20 to keep it.
