THE GOOD:Graphics (Jerseys, helmets, and player models)
Soundtrack
Passing game
Defensive advancements
THE BAD:
Fact that it's low on presentation, won't full anyone walking by for a TV broadcast unless they make a real EA Sports network, lol.
SUMMARY:
I was skeptical about buying this since I was really disappointed about MADDEN 2004 and the fact that it got boring 5 minutes in. 2005 has advancements that aren't a big deal when you read them, but you notice while you play it. The Hit Stick didn't get me too excited when I heard the first bits about it, but it's actually a lot of fun to use.
The passing game is smoother than ESPN and the running game is good as always even though you can still break a long one with ease at times. Playing D is no longer a chore and it's quite fun, the CPU might march the ball against you in the 4th quarter, but a timely use of the Hit Stick could cause a timely fumble. It still feels a bit planned at times though with Kicks returned for TDs by you after the other team scores or fumbles that happen at just the right time.
Commentary is solid, but it's not special by any means though Al Michaels is better than before. The time of day changes during games and the sun reflects off the helmets till late in the games where the lights come on. Just a massive improvement in many little ways on D and graphically that make this the football game of 05'.
