THE GOOD:
1. The graphics are amazing.
2. The storyline is good and as you advance in the game new features are added such as more and different monsters in each area.
3. Each type of Pikmin have there own certain ability.
4. Pikmin's a great strategic game and as you move on Captian Olimar will explain how to control the Pikmin and fight certain monsters, basically teaching you how to play the game.
5. There is more then just one area and each area will get more challenging.

THE BAD:
1. Some-what Repetitive
2. Theres time limits for each day
3. Too much reading parts in the game so it's not suggestible for children who can't read.
4. You only start off with one Pikmin making it kind of hard.
5. With only one type of Pikmin when you've started out you cannot go in the water to explore further without finding another type of Pikmin who can swim and won't drown.

SUMMARY:
Pikmin was the first in it's series developed by Nintendo in December of 2001. It was an instant hit, maybe one of the best games in it's time. Pikmin was so good that it inspired Nintendo to develop a second game.

Pikmin has a great story line that immediately gets you sucked into playing the game. At the beginning it shows a small cut-scene of what the game will be about.

Captian Olimar is flying in his spaceship trying to make his way back to his home planet, Hocotate when he is hit by a bunch of meteors. These meteors cause him to crash down on an unknown planet where about all of his parts from his spaceship have all been knocked off and scattered around the rest of the planet.

With only an oxygen tank that is good enough for 30 days and barely any parts on Olimar's spaceship he has to find a way to getting them all back and returning to his home planet, Hocotate.

Olimar moves around in this first area of the new planet and he finds a leaf type thing poking out of the ground. He picks it and this is where the adventure starts. The small leaf jumps out of the ground staring at you as if your the strangest thing it has ever seen.

Olimar stares at it and it reminds him of a Pikpik carrot that his wife fixed in his vegetable soup days before. He decides to name this creature a Pikmin. It soon follows him and will help him with your journeys throughout this planet. Again to Olimar's amazement he makes another discovery. The Pikmin carry pellets to there little ship that is very similar to an onion that was in his soup as well. The pellets grow into more Pikmin where they will slowly grow into a small army.

As you move on use the pikmin by throwing them, calling to them, and making them follow you. Throw them at enemies and round colored pellet things that will grow into more pikmin when it's sucked into the huge onion known as there carrier-thing that holds all the pikmin.

The more pikmin you have the better it is for you. Use your pikmin to find parts to your ship and fight off enemies such as; bulborbs, flame blowing elephant-type creatures, and many many others. Your Pikmin can even build bridges and knock down walls blocking your access to other areas.

This game consists of a lot of things but it's very fun and strategic. Your going to need to create strategies to beating the monsters and collecting as many spaceship parts as you can before your time limit is up.

Each day that has a time limit, a sun meter at the top of your screen will slowly move from the far left to the right once it reaches the right you will need to collect all of your Pikmin before sunset or they could be eaten by monsters over night. Knowning that your oxygen tank can only survive for 30 days these 30 days are your time limit, limiting you as you search the areas that your spaceship travels to and the more parts you receive back the further you can travel.

This game is personally one of the greatest Gamecube games I have ever played and it's just really enjoyable. Although it's slightly repetitive it still is great because of new creatures found in different areas and more features that the Pikmin can do such as throwing molten-lava rocks, breaking down walls, and building bridges.

I suggest this game for all ages above at-least 10 years of age. I think that because the older you are the better you can understand things. If your not a strong reader you may want a parents help when Olimar teaches you how to basically play the game. Have fun and never regret playing Pikmin it's one of the best!
