THE GOOD:This game has amazing 3D effects for attacks and the Pokemon look cool. I like how the storyline is different in Colosseum and XD than in most other Pokemon RPG games. There are also play options so if you don't feel like playing Story Mode, you can do Battle Mode and just do random battling.
The option to trade Pokemon from your GBA to Colosseum and back blows me away. Now you can import your Pokemon from Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen to battle with in Story Mode OR Battle Mode!
THE BAD:
The only bad things about Colosseum to me is the amount of Pokemon available to you in Story Mode and the Purification process. Most of these problems are solved by reading manuals or plain intelligence, however there are a few items of note.
First, you can catch Raikou, Suicune and Entei as the only Legendaries in-game (with Ho-Oh as the exception). The only other way to obtain the other Legends is by trading from your GBA. This includes Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Celebi, Latios, Latias, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi and Deoxys.
Second, Purifying the Shadow Pokemon can take varying amounts of time, depending on the Pokemon. If you compare the time it takes to Purify a Murkrow versus that of a Tyranitar, it'll usually come down to the Tyranitar taking more time (simply because it takes quite a bit of experience to level up a larger Pokemon like that than a Murkrow). In addition, 48 Shadow Pokemon all with varying amounts of time to Purify, and along with the limited battling in-game can often lead to playing for even months trying to Purify every Pokemon.
SUMMARY:
. Awesome use of effects on the moves used by Pokemon. Some examples are Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Surf and Dragonbreath.
. 3D Pokemon rock the arena in Colosseum. The way that the Pokemon use attacks, and the way they're just plain seen on the field are cool. Examples are Espeon, Slaking and Manectric.
. The ability to trade Pokemon from your GBA to Colosseum greatly expands your access to the many Pokemon in the game. Trade from Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen to see for yourself how cool it is to have your very own GBA Pokemon on the 3D Battlefield!
. Have fun Snagging Shadow Pokemon in Story Mode. Steal Makuhita, Yanma, Forretress and 46 others from rival Trainers, the evil Team Snagem and the mysterious Cipher Peons and Admins.
. Blast your opponents out of the arena in Mt. Battle VS 100. Make it to the top, battling 100 trainers to claim victory!
. Purify every Shadow Pokemon and complete Mt. Battle in Battle Mode and RPG Mode and you'll claim the Legendary Ho-Oh!
Might I suggest a little extension on battling? Something about how type effectiveness and abilities play roles in battles, since making use of either can really alter the course of a fight.
