THE GOOD:
Not only one person to play as... but two, Jill and Chris. They both have their own uniqueness to them so that they won't be just different looking but with the same story.

Major touch-ups on the graphics from the original game for the Playstation, and not only that you can see extra areas never before seen such as the new Graveyard area and the appearance of Lisa Trevor.

There are various endings to go through with each character, each being different from each and having certain plot twists or something you would never expect, they are very interesting indeed.

Also included are a few extra weapons such as the Gasoline which lets you burn the zombies. And on that note as well, the zombies react a little bit better and are actually more lifelike (deadlike?).

THE BAD:
The story is still pretty much the same so you'll know everything...

THE GOOD:
-Impressive graphics
-Scary ass game.
-Crimson Head zombies
-Back ground music

THE BAD:
-Backtracting
-Lighter and Oil Can take up too much space
-Confusing Control (at first)

SUMMARY:
Resident Evil remake for the Nintendo Gamcube truly delivers on being scary. The graphics are amazing, Capcom definitely put work into that aspect of the game. The background music in the game is bone-chilling especially when its quiet and the camera angle helps the game to be scary as well. Though the controls can be hard to learn you can change them and their easy once you learn them. Capcom alot has changed since the original version which is good. What they went and done was they added more rooms, more bosses, and a few new enemies and puzzles which really helps the game because if it would have been too much like the original therefore anything new to people who've played the original. Capcom also added in a new type...

THE GOOD:
1. Graphics
2. Sound
3. Gameplay (its a good gameplay for a RE game)

THE BAD:
1. The game is too short
2. The game is too hard if you dont have a guide.

SUMMARY:
The graphics in this game is amazing.... the gamecube is obviously being pushed to its' limits. The cutscenes also have incredible details, not only that enemies become 10 times as scary because of the tremendous details... no zombies look alike... all are still men (at least the ones I encountered) but they all are different and each are scary in different ways. You can complain with the gameplay cause this is the RE style (except for RE4). The camera is in the perfect position in ever area. and you find that you jump when something scary happens.
It is really hard to get through the game without a guide though,... you find your self running out of ammo if you dont have a guide. And when you do have a guide, you find yourself spoiling the storyline for...

THE GOOD:
Strong atmosphere
Good Story
Horror comes across well

THE BAD:
Camera + control system combo produces awkward movement
Gamespan too short
Far too difficult

SUMMARY:
Resident Evil has garnered much praise for defining the horror genre. Now Capcom have released a remake of the original onto the Gamecube. So, is this game worthy of the praise it has received?

Visuals

Graphically the game is excellent. There's a great level of detail. Character models have been built up with a high level of detail, with nothing looking flat. There are little details added to them like badges and pockets that it's clear the level of care that has been taken.

Environments have also been worked on a lot. The shortcutting of using 2D elements is generally a bit more noticable here but nevertheless have been constructed well with clever use of designs. The lighting is especially effective....

THE GOOD:
Graphics
Sound
Plot
Scaryness
Re-Playability

THE BAD:
Controls are tough for RE newbies

SUMMARY:
This is a great remake of the first game! The graphics are brilliant and i believe they are some of the best graphics on the gamecube. They have new CGI movies to replace thoose cheesy old ones.
The game draws you in and makes you want to keep playing just to find out whats inside that next door or what that new key might do..
I live in England where this game is a 15 so that children under the age of 15 cant buy it. I dont know whats thats like in the US but its definatly not a game for children. Its scares the crap outta me!
Even though the game is short, there are allot of extras to unlock like hard mode and survival mode that test your skill at the game. Im sure its not for everyone but its worth looking into because you can get it quite cheap now.
Great game, great series!

-Story-line
-Sounds
-Music
-Gameplay
-Voice acting
-Crimson Heads (Zombies)

THE BAD:
-The camera is still frustrating. (kinda frustrating to play with the camera)
-It was a bit easy.

SUMMARY:
Story 10/10 awesome
Graphics 10/10 great
Sounds 10/10 great
Gameplay 9/10 good
Music 9/10 good
Controllers 10/10 great

This game is worth buying. An awesome game that I ever played of the series. This game cost like about 19.99 now. Ever since I saw my dad played this game I was about 11 years old I was scared in the first time but, when I play this game, I enjoyed it. It was fun. I rate this game 10/10. It's better than zero. Zero wasn't scary at all. I didn't like the story-line. I haven't review 2, code veronica x, gaiden, and zero.

THE GOOD:
  • Polished textures
  • Improved graphics (understatement)
  • Fantastic *makes you jump* moments
  • Good variety of enemies
  • New "Crimson Heads" add more difficulty
  • Plenty of unlock-ables
  • New Lisa Trevor storyline added

    THE BAD:

  • Same Resident Evil style of hiring porn stars for voice acting
  • Fixed view can get irritating
  • Cutscenes can get choppy at times

    SUMMARY:
For a remake, this game is unbelievable. Resident Evil has come a long way and it's thanks to improvements such as this. It also incorporates a new storyline, one which is new to the RE family, the Lisa Trevor story. Yes, battle the invulnerable temptress yourself as you find out how she came to be over the course of the game. Not much else to say other than if you're someone who wants to re-live the original, this is worth getting.

    THE GOOD:
    1. Remake of the classic one.
    2. Great Graphics.
    3. Good character models.
    4. New twists.
    5. More detailed settings.
    6. New places to explore.
    7. New type of zombie

    THE BAD:
    1. Same bad camera angle.
    2. Same stiff characters.
3.Mite be to easy for some.

    SUMMARY:
This is one of the best remakes ive ever played. The ps1 game was ground breaking but this one is ground breaking too. The voice acting is the best of all RE games including RE0. The effects of the lighting and how the characters are detailed is truly amazing. And with the same oppion in the old verion of playing as either Chris or Jill will give you two points of views of how the story is played out. this also is a good game to play for RE fans. and if you've never played a Resident Evil game this is a good place to start.

    THE GOOD:
The graphics. The story. The weapons. The characters/monsters. The environments!

    THE BAD:
    Some camera angles.

    SUMMARY:
If you have a GameCube, you should own this game, too. That's how good it is! If you say, "Well, I played the original for the PS1 and beat it numerous times.." Well, then you should still have this game. The graphics are breath-taking. Lighting flashes through the windows as a zombie attacks you- can it get any better? Hell yeah. The guns' flashes from their barrels are photo-realistic. The atmosphere is so electrifying. This game will have you on the edge of your seat at all times. The cheesy dialogue from the original is outta' there, also, which is a plus. The characters are so detailed, it looks like they're straight from a movie. A must have for any GameCube owner!

    THE GOOD:
Beautiful graphics, much more depth and a hell of a lot better voice acting then the original

    THE BAD:
still no change in fighting style though new weapons

    SUMMARY:
RESIDENT EVIL is a classic. No doubt. But this game kicks it through the window.the graphics are beautiful. environments arent as stale as before and add to the creepy mood. The game also has more depth.new defense attacks to throw off zombies oh and new enemies. By the way watch out for zombies you shot and killed they have a surprise for you and believe me i was very surprised indeed. Also if you havent played the first one on the psone then yu should know the voice acting was awful. those who have like me know wat it sounds like. yea it sucked. well im glad to say its on target and also jill swares a few times which i found entertaing. but there is one negative you have to stop.. pivot.. and shoot. just like all resident evils you cant walk and shoot which can cause...
