THE GOOD: -Original Type of Storyline (for it's time) -Great replay value -Game is overall fun.
THE BAD: -If you've played other versions, the GameCube version won't be much different. -Not really worth buying unless you've never played RE2 before. (like me) -Graphics same as PS1 version with minor improvements.
SUMMARY: Well, when Capcom decided to release the entire Resident Evil back catalogue on GameCube, everybody expected remakes on the levels of Zero and the first game, right? Wrong. Even though these seem to be cheap ports of the other versions, Resident Evil 2 still remains a terrifying game.
Taking control of Leon.S.Kennedy or Claire Redfield, it's your job to escape the city alive. This game in the series brought in all kinds of original monsters such as the Ivy plant, the Licker and even the alligator boss. It has a compelling story that enables you to play it through both characters' points of view....
THE GOOD: Alomost everything, the graphix has definatly been improved, the weapons rock and so does the story line.
THE BAD: nothing bad.!!
SUMMARY: This game is the best resident evil I have played, the graphix is brilliant and when you kill zombies the blood and wounds look realistic and are very detailed. This game has a good story line that was fairly easy to complete but I had a strategy guide so what do u expect. The weapons are also brilliant although even the most powerful don't seem to kill the bosses quick enough. I would definatly recomend this game to anyone who likes horror and puzzle solving games. I would recomend that you buy a stratagy guide, if you are thinking of purchasing this game, I don't think I could have completed it without one.
THE GOOD: The good?? It's Resident Evil 2! You'll have to play this game if you want to know everything in Resident Evil 4, which will probably be released this yaer (2004)! Also, this game has a great claustrophiboc and terrorific atmosphere. You'll get scared more than only one time... This game is also pretty cheap!
THE BAD: Oh god! This game is over five years old, and so do the graphics! It seems that Capcom was lazy, and the graphics are the same like those ones from Play Station! That isn't so good... This game is also shorter than all the other Resident Evil series (but still good!)... This game also doesn't offers any new things...
SUMMARY: If you are a Resident Evil fan... BUY THIS GAME! The graphics will really disapoint you, though... This game is still ok, even if the graphics are five years old. If you bought Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil REMAKE for your GameCube, you should buy this one so you can see...
THE GOOD: excellent story line, graphics are good, cool monster designs, and many boss fights.
THE BAD: bad blood effects, some blur outlines, and bad environments.
SUMMARY: This is, well, an old game. Capcom had done a fairly good job in the making of the game, at least it was good 5 years ago. The game's story line is good, for it just fits into the story line of the RE series, unlike the Survivor series. Capcom had done a good job on the monster designs as well, for this RE title includes my favorite monsters, like the Licker and Mr.X. The boss fights are fun, I admit, but there is just a little flaw: why had Capcom make fight William Birkin that many time, when they could make me fight a few more Mr.X or those classic Tyrants? Sometimes, as you proceed into the game, you will discover that, some of the monsters' outlines are sorta blur, and this is very annoying.
THE BAD: absolutly notings new. Dispite what yu've heard this is NOT a remake of the outstanding game form five years ago. It's actually the exact same game right down to the graphics. And to top it off, you still have to pay 50 bucks for it. 50 bucks for a five year old game...how pathetic.
SUMMARY: When it's annouced that a game in going to be remade what arethe first things that come to mind? Better graphics,New features, More options, slight puzzle changes. All those right? the remake for the original Resident Evil was awesome becuase it was ACTUALLY a remake. When I rented this ripoff GC version of re2 I rushed it back after about 3 hours. Don't get me wrong....when this game was originally released it rocked. But that was five years ago. this game is now on a whopping five systems, which makes no sense becuase they are all the same. Resident Evil fans will be VERY bored with the GC version of RE2. Simply...
THE BAD: Awkward control, way below par graphics, shallow repetitious gameplay...oh, yes, and THE PRICE, THE PRICE, THE PRICE!!!
SUMMARY: Gee, if Capcom reps came over to your house, broke the door down, and stole your TV, it would hardly be a less blatant case of theft. Anyone that scores this game highly either didn't buy it with their own money or has never played a video game in the last five years.
RE 2 was a decent sequel when it came out on the PS1 back in the late Nineties. Graphics were the best the PS could manage back then, and the gameplay was still relatively fresh. Of course, the controls were terrible and your poor character kept getting butchered due to his/her inability to move like a normal human being. Gameplay was hampered by other technical problems, like that heinious inventory system, the laughable voice acting, and the "Engrish" translations of the game text....
THE GOOD: good story and good characters for me only!!!!
THE BAD: very short and the graphics have some angles, in other words rough to look at!!!!
SUMMARY: i have said these because i have played it several times in ps1. their graphics are little bit ugly and that is just my comment!!!! one thing more, i would like to suggest that if it will be transferred or this game will be reproduced, make sure that its graphics can catch the eyes of the players and forget everything about them!!!!
