THE GOOD:
The fact that VJ is both a 2d and a 3d at the same time makes it really original and addictive. Its really action packed cuz there are lots of different things to do and lots of enemies that you can fight. There are also different 'modes', where you can make time speed up or slow it down, providing really cool matrix-style gameplay.THE BAD:
Sometimes you can get sick of the way he moves, because he often does really go a bit slow. If you aren't really a good puzzle solver, then you might have a bit of trouble on it. Thats about it for bad things. SUMMARY:
Overall, Viewtiful Joe is really an awesome game. If you dont have it by now, then you really need to go out and get it, since its a really fun and addicting action/adventure game. Its not that short, not that long when it comes to the story, but it will certainly last a while, since some bosses can be a little harder than others, requiring extra time on them.
The puzzles are also fun to do since they dont confuse the hell out of you, but rather are there for the fun. All in all, its really one great game, for the younger crowd, and the old. Its also a bit on the original side, seeing as how most games aren't exactly like VJ. Wonderful game. |

THE GOOD:
The original consept of using the VFX or (movie powers) was a real Blast. The slow, machspeed and zoom option give this 2d adventure game new look.
And let's face it, whats more viewtiful then doding a zoomed kick in slowmotion on the enemy.THE BAD:
If your not a good puzzler then your gonna get extremely irritated with that. improvisation is everything. think as original as you can else you'll get stuck till the end of time. SUMMARY:
VJ is an Awesome 2d adventure. WHAT 2D! thats old
yeah so what? Joe can only move left and right but that dossnt bother at all. couse the 3d world around you with enough horns and bells keeps you amused so mutch that you wont even notice it.
Combos: dossnt the game get boring becouse you only got y and x to punch and kick?
nope, couse you can use a big variation using the zoom, slow and machspeed. and you can buy new moves using the earned V pionts.
story: classical superhero tale with an egotistical twitch. all superhero fans whill love it.

THE GOOD:
i think that the 3-d and the 2-d is cool.also the kick but moves if i didn't buy the game already i would buy it one hundred times.at the begining of the game i like to kill all the evil people in the traning mode.really i kick but for my life.I really , really , really like the slow down mode because you can hit mostly anyone.i like the fast mode because you can move really fast.so cool , if i were a new comer i would buy this gameTHE BAD:
But some times the 3-d and the 2-d can be bad.
I think the the game could be a little faster and he needs more powers.I don't like how the powers go away when the bar is down.I do not like the slot game. SUMMARY:
this is the coolest game ever.It has all the games I wanted in to one.I think they should make a viewtiful joe two.I think i am going to play it right now.(two hours later)that was fun!This game is so cool. |

Ok Here is the low-down
1)Graphics- If you have seen this game then you know the graphics are the ever fearful Cel-shaded Graphics. Don't complain you can't about this game.It was made for Cel-shading it fits perfect! They were made for each other. So far it's the finest cel-shaded game i have played. This is no reason to put down this game 5.0/5.0
2)Sound Qaulity- The sound Quality on this game is pretty good. It isn't a bang house,but he delivers enough to make the score for this part of the game prety Good.It's Clear and Crisp. Explosion sounds make it sound Extreme. But some of the punch sounds aren't like you probably want them to sound like.Like when they hit you want to hear it loud and you want the controller to rumble.Doesn't happen that's why is gets a score of 4.6/5.0
3)- Controls- AMAZING! This game and this controler fit together great well too! I mean they are layed out so simply and so easy to cover in just minutes in the game.You'll have everything learned. 5.0/5.0
4)- Difficulty- This is were this game falls flat on its face it's too easy you'll have it beat in 5-6 days and To me that's just too quick. Even on Adult mode no real challenge pretty much any average JOE could pick this game up and play it. so it gets a 4.0/5.0
5)-Game Length- It's too short every level take you about 2 hours maybe. Only 6 levels and the 7 fighting the final bad Guy. It also fails here badly. 3.5/5.0
ABOUT THE GAME ASPECTS
6)-Story,Characters- They both rock. The story has a great plot and it keeeps you guessing until the very end it did me. The Characters are cool. I mean Joe all his moves and stuff its great.
So Overall it gets a 4.2/5.0 I recomend to all people of all ages. |

Capcom goes cel shaded with Viewtiful Joe and they do it in a big way. Setting out to make a “cool” game isn’t easy and usually falls below standard but Capcom sets out to change the ways of making video games. With producer by Atsushi Inaba and director Hideki Kamiya, who also directed Devil May Cry, at the helm in developing this game you can only expect the best. Together they create a game beyond anything you have ever seen or played before.
Graphics 10
The graphics in this game take cel shading to their limits. The game is styled in a comic book fashion in kind of a 50’s Batman kind of way. Viewtiful Joe is a 2D/3D hybrid, the main aspect of the game is as a 2D side-scroller but the game goes further than your average NES Mario game. There are plenty of 3D aspects to the games as well, some characters will leave the 2D track from time to time to avoid Joe and sometimes Joe will need to stray from his 2D ways to continue around corners and through doors, most of the time though you will only be playing the 2D aspect of the game.
Story 10
The story for this game is the best thing since Eternal Darkness, its not a thriller like ED but the story is action packed, hilariously funny and has a couple plot twists you never would of expected. The characters are developed rather quickly in the story, Joe a comic book loving teen that looks too much like Fred Durst for words and his girlfriend Silvia, who is no Britanny Spears but gives off a Mickey Mouse Club kind of act for the most part.
Sound 9
The sounds of Viewtiful Joe are not as cutting edge as the graphics but go great with the rest of the game. The music goes well with the levels and the sound effects are what you’d expect out of a comic book movie with all the smacks and dings to make it last for the length of the game.
Challenge 10
This is the most challenging game to come to the cube in quite some time. To unlock everything it will take at least 100 hours but your first time on easy will take about 12. There are 7 levels and 4 difficulties and each one unlocks something new. From the second difficulty you can carry over your powers to the next level if you want, without this aspect it would make the higher levels almost impossible. Your first time through you may think it’s a little easy but once you get to level 6 you’ll never say that about another game again till your done.
Gameplay 10
This game is as fun as it is challenging, sometimes you will want to flip over your TV and jump and down on it screaming but in the end you will be happy with delight. With Matrix styled special abilities to slow down the game as well as speed up the game and zoom in for a closer look you will be left in awe. Each of the special abilities will change the amount of damage you take as well as dish out to the baddies and combining some of them will spell doom for your enemies.
Replay Value 10
Once you pick up Viewtiful Joe it will be hard to put it down. I have played it for 2 months straight and even if I stray away to play something else I always come back the next day.
Recommendation 10
Hands down this will be the ”Game of the Year,” in the future it will be thought of the same as Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. The game is innovative and will start a trend in the videogame industry. Expect a sequel and expect a lot of kids coming to the door on Halloween yelling “Henshin a go go baby.”

THE GOOD:
-The new type of battle mode capcom has put in to it
-The mix between a fighter game, adventure, and action. But mostly Action.
-This game is hilarious! Joe makes me crack up and he makes the villains seem so corny(not in bad way, in a funny way)
-Did I say the great new battle style? Well, I'll say it again! THE NEW BATTLE STYLE ROCKS!!!!THE BAD:
-They only have one basic type of enemy, which is a robot thing. There are many different types of robots that all provide new challenges and different moves, but all the enemies are a type of robot. Not a big deal, it just buggs me a little.
-The storyline doesn't have much plot to it. But then, you don't really care about the storyline with the great action/battle style mode they have. Whenever a cinematic comes up, I usually just try to get through it because I can't wait to play some more!(but the cinamatics are great and hilarious though) SUMMARY:
This game is awesome. I know I've made this clear to you, but I love the new battle style. It'll knock you off your chair(or if you're sitting on the floor, off your butt). Some people think the game is too short, but I think 4-5 hours is pretty decent and:
1) There's two modes, Kid mode and Adult mode, which you can both beat.
2) There's a secret character you can unlock....
Here's my opinion:
Gameplay: 10/10
Graphics: 10/10(it looks great in cell-shading)
Music: 9/10(the music is pretty nice, but can never compare to sonic music)
Value/replay value: 9/10(I like how its only 39.99 where I live and it has great replay value)
Overall: 9.5
This game is overall great beyond any games I have played and I have not played a game this original in idea, with the whole thing about how you're in a movie, to the original battle style. I have not had a game this great since I laid eyes on Animal Crossing or metroid prime. And for only 39.99, this is a definite must-have! |

THE GOOD:
Almost everything in this game is great..THE BAD:
Lack of saving points..and the game can sometimes get frustrating. SUMMARY:
This is one heck of a game people. A game that you have never experienced before. This game introduces gamers to the art of fighting...the FUNKED UP way of fighting. The games so fast, that if you'd blink, you'd miss the whole thing. This game has some of the best moves that a game can. It has a mode of slow-mo. And people, this isn't the slow-mo of Enter the Matrix. This slow-mo lets you dodge the enemies punches, make them confuse, and slap their asses silly. And not only will you be able to dodge punches, also bullets, too. You also are able to HIT the bullets back at the enemy. You heard me people, HIT the bullets back. How cool is that?
And, then, there's Mach speed mode. The mode that makes you move in such a speed. You can easily run away from enemies, and live them in disbeleif, in how anybody can run so fast. You can also use it to demolish your enemies and do an insane combo. And last, there's Zoom-in mode. The mode that lets you do such incrediable moves, such as continous spinning kicks, powerful kicks and punches, jumping with such a power around you, and kicking down with such a power.
I bet you wish there were even more amazing moves like these, don't you? Well, there are. Moves such as Viewtiful Forever, that destroys the enemies by your Viewtiful Pos. Red Hot Kick, that lets you do an incrediable hot and powerful kick on your enemies. But remember, if you want moves such as Viewtiful Forever, and Red Hot Kick, you must try your best and bust out the coolest moves you can in one combo! Always show off your skills!
The game has beatiful cel-shaded graphics. There have been all of these cel-shaded graphics game these past years that look absoulutly ridicoulous! But Viewtiful Joe pulls it off with the cel-shading and comic book style. And lets not forget, the game was GREAT cutscenes.
The game also has intresting bosses. Animal Bosses that actually look good and got good names, unlike some other games*cough*Megaman X*cough*. The bosses go from a Bat with huamn legs, all the way to a Fire Lion!
Well, that wraps up by review. I recommend this game to anyone, especially to any GC owners. The games great for Kids, and Adults.

Hmmm...Everything is good in this game!THE BAD:
There's no such thing as the words "bad things" for Viewtiful Joe. SUMMARY:
Viewtiful Joe is one of the best ever selling games in Gamecube history.The game was created by Capcom.Its graphics are very amazing because it is cell-shaded.It's like you're in a real comic strip!
This game has slow and fast moving action.It might remind you of the Matrix and other slow/fast action games/movies.
The best thing is that you just don't control Joe.You get to control other great and amazing characters!
The bosses of this game are very unique in their own different ways.The enemies also have their great styles!There are many more things to talk about this game.You will find such other great things once you get your hands on the controller and start the action!
