N64  F-ZERO Goes Polygonal! 4.9

THE GOOD:
Amazing Graphics
30 Machines
Over 20 Courses

THE BAD:
The Commentator, if anything.
The brake is difficult to use while moving at speed.

SUMMARY:
F-ZERO's outing on the Nintendo 64 shows exactly what the machine can do. Its incredible Graphics and unbelievably precise controls set the stage for F-ZERO to blast into the world of 128-Bit Graphics a few years later!

26 racers have been added since the original F-ZERO, including Mighty Gazelle, a cyborg who was reconstructed after a racing accident as a human being; Zoda, a mad scientist who injects crazed ideas into his brain using a special device; Black Shadow, the self-proclaimed King of Evil; and Jody Summer, an ex-fighter pilot (who is surprisingly young, taking that into consideration) and the main female Character of the Series who always ends up being rescued from the clutches of Black Shadow (so Jody is essentially the Princess Peach of F-ZERO).

The Machines and Courses are incredibly detailed, proving just how powerful the Nintendo 64 is with polygons!

Aside from the barely-necessary brake, the only problem is the race's Commentator - he can become slightly annoying when he says something for the tenth time and you still can't understand it. Thankfully, he only opens his mouth when something significant happens to your Machine.

Definitely recommended to all who own a Nintendo 64!

THE GOOD:
Really fun racing game, 30 different machines to choose from, lots and lots of fun and intuitive tracks are advailable, a great challenge for when you're bored.

THE BAD:
Graphics aren't anything to smile about, music is okay - nothing to really marvel at.

SUMMARY:
I've always been a fan of F Zero games since I played and got hooked on F-Zero GX. I really think its fun because you can race on different types of racing levels that you never really would have expected in a regular racing game. With that said, let me say that the gameplay is what makes this game really fun. It has lots of things to offer, since its basically a game that is fun for anyone to play. The different levels that you have to race and choose from are really fun as well, and its where all the fun factor comes from. There are lots of different turns, flips, spirals, ovals, and many other things that a Gran Turismo fan would never expect.

The game itself is really a wonderful game, despite the graphics which only seem to be a tiny flaw, but other than that, I definitely recommend this to whomever likes fast-paced adrenaline rush racing games.

THE GOOD:
30 available machines. Over 20 tracks plus infinite "random" tracks. Unique "Death Race" mode. Multiplayer supported.

THE BAD:
Nothing.

SUMMARY:
F-Zero's first entry into next-gen console gaming packs a lot into a little cartridge. Although you don't have much at first (only 6 machines & 18 tracks), you can unlock more through gameplay. What really stands out about this title, though, is the "Death Race"-a race on a giant loop where your goal is to destroy every other machine as fast as possible. No surprisingly, this mode is a total blast as it will satisfy the aggressive driver in all of us.
The racetracks are nicely detailed with virtually no slowdown-Mario Kart 64 fans will even recognize the Rainbow Road track...But it's more fun doing it at 500 MPH than at 50! The tracks have excellent variety, including cylinderes, ovals, pipes, even half-pipes! All the machines also handle differently, which adds to the challenge.
I can't find anything not to like about the game, although the announcer's voice gets rather annoying afer time, if you can even understand it. Overall this title should be in every F-Zero fan's library, and is a nice compliment to it's more powerful counterpart, GX for GameCube. If nothing else, keep this one for the Death Race.

THE GOOD:
The great selection of courses and cars. The snazy backgrounds. And the great challenge!

THE BAD:
Kind of bad track graphics (can't see the end - you know what I mean?) and the music is kind of gay.

SUMMARY:
This game is awsome! if I could choose from any Nintendo64 racing game it's this one! with over 20 cars to choose from along with 24 tracks and a cup that has random tracks every time. The only thing this game is missing is a "Edit Track" - now that would be awsome. Get this gane! If I owned a shop and I had to sell this game I'd sell it for $80. Over that is kind of dumb but under that is a great deal! if you have a nintendo and you see this game in store - get it! (unless you already have it). All I have got left to say now is that this game ROCKS!!!. That was Twii_Lights happy little review.

THE GOOD:
Many cars
Really fast
Lots of places to drive
Four difficulties
Nice and smoth graphics

THE BAD:
Some details missing, but not much

SUMMARY:
Graphics: Well you're reaally driving the cars fast so you'll have a big problem if you are looking for details on the way. This is a really smoth game and you can see as far as the stage go.

Sound: It isn't nothing wrong with the sound at any places but I can't tell you anything much about the sound simply because it's just sound. This is electro-rock at its very best, and there are several really great tunes. Very good stuff.

Gameplay: Great track-design, that is cretainly quite extreme, but then, that is absolutely a good thing. There are tons of tracks and ships in this game, four difficulty-levels and an excellent time-trail-mode. Very good controll as well.

Lifespan: Tons of ships and tracks, great time-trail, great multiplayer equals great lifespan. Lasts a long while.

Overall: The best racer on the N64, this is futuristic racing at its very best.

F-Zero X is the sequel to the futuristic hover-racing game F-Zero. It contains over 24 different tracks and 30 cars to choose from. At speeds of over 1000 kph with sixty frames/second, this is a fast speed race. Also includes an up-to 4 player multiplayer mode.
