Mario has done many things in his career and turned his hand to many sports. Bored of butt-stomping yet another goomba or zipping past his brother to take the win on the track, Mario Golf marks the N64's take on golf, done in the usual Mario style. Prepare to take to the courses where fireballs, giant rings and dinosaurs are commonplace. This is not your traditional golf sim.

Well, despite the fantasy nature of the game the core basics are not any different from the usual rounds of golf. You use a bunch of metal sticks to whack a small ball across various courses to try and sink the ball into a small hole on the green in as few shots as possible. Doing this requires more than brute force, as players have to take into account various different factors for every shot.

That is the key aspect about the game. Trying to power your way through doesn't really work out that well, as failing to think each shot through is likely to land the ball in the rough or even...

THE GOOD:
Good graphics. Several unique modes of gameplay. Realistic controls. Mini-Golf is included.

THE BAD:
Controls take time to learn at first, especially if you don't play many golf games. Some of the special game modes are very difficult. Can't unlock everything if you don't have the N64 Transfer Pak & GBC Mario Golf.

SUMMARY:
Mario & Company's first try at something besides platform games & racing came in the form of this title. The first thing you may notice is it keeps true to the Mario franchise in that many holes on the courses have patterns of various Mario characters, both good and evil...right down to using Boos as wind gauges. Controls start out simple at first, just pressing one button to swing at first, then learn how to slice, hook, and use spin on shots. There's also a Challenge Mode where you can unlock more hidden golfers.<br>Some of those special games, like Ring Shot, seem to border on impossible without lots and...

THE GOOD:
good game i believe, not too bad, i really liked it and it involved i think the sport of golf, it made it a better sport than it already was, i thought this game was good in gameplay and graphics, it had great stuff that was really awesome, it had ring mode, all types of modes u would love to play

THE BAD:
i thought it was too easy, i completed everything fairly easily and that shouldnt happen. more characters could have also been added, maybe more modes

SUMMARY:
I give it a 3.5 out of 5, it was good but could have been a little bit better, this one thought brought golf a bigger fan base and i think produced it a game that is more fun, well if u want to get a game thats fun, relaxing and enjoyable i think u better should get this maybe not buy it right away but at least rent it would be perfect, most people like this a lot that played it so i suggest u play it

THE GOOD:
1) Excellent control system 2) 14 golfers
3) Easy to learn, hard to master 4) Cool game modes

THE BAD:
1) Certain CPU golfers to diificult
2) Ball sometimes doesn't go where it should

SUMMARY:
Mario games are generally gold. this game is no different. Golf may seem rather boring but this game will change your mind. The control system makes it easy to get into but don't expect to be outperforming Bowser anytime soon.

There are a number of game modes on offer, including: Tournament, Ring Shot, Mini golf, Club slots and Speed Golf. This last mode deserves a special mention. The idea is to complete a round of golf as fast as possible while trying to get a good score too. Difficult but fun.

THE GOOD:
Great Graphics. Lovely gameplay and loads of cool modes to play on which a very fun

THE BAD:
Can get a little boring after a while. Quite hard controls to master because of the speed and direction of the wind.

SUMMARY:
This game is great and I would certainly reccomend it for anyone who is a golf fan. Pick from all the Mario characters and add on characters like Charlie, Maple and Sonny. Play some brilliant game modes like mini-golf, Training match, Tournament and Ring Shot. Although this game is fory good, it may not last you very long because it can get a little boring after a while. In conclosion this is one of the best sports games on the Nintendo 64.
