After defeating his felonious half-brother Morganor, Bradwen, the illegitimate son of the King of the Atrebates, returns home to claim the throne. No sooner does he place the crown upon his head, than he discovers that he has been cursed as generations before him, the result of an ancient crime. Bradwen returns to the lands of Arden and Avalon to discover the tasks necessary to undo the curse and return peace to his people.
