Baldur's Gate

THE GOOD:
Everything is great. Sounds, challenge, quests, story, weapons, development, graphics, enemies, etc. You will find yourself whiling away hours with this one. (At least 6,000)

THE BAD:
If you're one of those "Must immediately become uber-powerful, must slaughter everything and have no resistance" kind of people, don't bother with BG. There is little opportunity to become a god in this game, and there's quite a challenge.

SUMMARY:
This game paves the way for its perfect sequel, BG2. It is barely less of a game though. You'll find yourself almost confused and overwhelmed midway through, because there are so many quests and the storyline is so enticing.

If you played BG2 before BG1, be prepared for only a minor letdown, because many things in BG1 match or exceed its sequel.
