THE GOOD:
  • A different point of view
  • Storyline is parallel to Half-Life, even if it begins near the end of Half-Life
  • Graphics are still great
  • New weapons
  • New aliens
  • Military soundtrack

    THE BAD:

  • Ladders are still dangerous and annoying
  • G-Man saves you but for a better immersion into the horror world
  • Friendly AI isn't really great

    SUMMARY:
When Half-Life was released in 1998, nobody couldn't predict the real revolution the game started in the FPS World. As Doom, Half-Life was one of the best FPS in all times. So, an add-on was released in 1999, followed by a stand-alone, Blueshift, where you're playing Barney Calhoun, a security guard. Being in 2008, you already know what happened to Gordon and Barney. But what about the hero of Opposing Force?

I'll refresh your mind about the three heroes of the first HL trilogy, set in the Black Mesa Era. Gordon Freeman...

    THE GOOD:
    Not a rehash
    New weapons and monsters
    More exciting
    Squad Mechanics

    THE BAD:
    Quite short
    Aging graphics

    SUMMARY:
Half-Life: Opposing Force was the first offical expansion pack for Valve Software's 1998 phenomenon, Half-Life. The game promises new weapons, new characters and a completely different perspective. It has all been done extremely well and you could even say it is better than the original Half-Life.

Half-Life: Opposing Force's protagonist is a military soldier with the name of Adrian Shephard. He is one of the soldiers who was meant to eliminate the original Half-Life's protagonist, Gordon Freeman. You even see Gordon for five seconds in one section.

Playing as Adrian is a completely different experience from being Gordon despite the actual game engine is largely the same. The main difference is the fact you can command small squads and you can team up against the aliens and the black-ops...

    THE GOOD:
Mainly everything is good, weapons, gameplay, graphics and everything else.

    THE BAD:
    nothing

    SUMMARY:
Yuo are the army sent in to contain the situation at Black Mesa and your main priority is to take out Gordon Freeman but things go haywire and you are soon fighting on the sme side. I have to say that this game has some of my favorite fights in it. While the AI is not amazing the scenarios you are put in compensates for that.

The gameplay really is excellent, the fights are awesome and the graphics dominate over all. I highly receommend this game to anyone with a computer.

    THE GOOD:
Comes with Blue Shift for free
    The gameplay

    THE BAD:
    The ending
    The game seemed short

    SUMMARY:
I really liked this game a lot. I really liked the beginning with the crash and even though it is somewhat annoying, not getting a gun for awhile makes you think whether or not you are going to attack your enemy with a wrench or a knife. Like blueshift, this game has the sort of Unreal feel to it. It doesn't have as much of a Deus Ex feel, but the game is still incredibly fun. The fact that this game comes with Blue shift for free is even better. The game also doesn't use the CD (Thankfully, I hate having to keep loading CDs between games.) I would highly reccomend this game to anyone who likes shooters especially those who like Unreal.

    Bottom Line:
You can't go wrong with getting this game.

    THE GOOD:
Good graphics. Exelent story line. Doesn't take a Super PC to run.

    THE BAD:
    Final boss was too easy!

    SUMMARY:
Well, not much to say about this game, exept if you like a good story, and a good FPS, you must have this game. The story line coinsides with the origional HalfLife wonderfully, and is still creative, and fun.
    I loved it.
