SUMMARY:
After playing the previous battlefield games, 1942 and vietnam, Id have to say that BF2 takes the cake. If you're not familiar to the Battlefield genre, the basics of this game are you try to capture control points and the more control points you have on the field, the more your enemies tickets decrease and when you or your enemies' tickets reach zero, that team loses.
The new addition to BF2 is the squad feature which lets you join up with a squad within a team and you get to talk privately to members of your squad and your leader which makes for more strategic gameplay. You may use a microphone or headset to communicate better with them. There is also a commander feature which allows someone to apply for commander and that person becomes the leader of the team. The commander can see the enemies on the map and can call artillery strikes on designated locations which contributes to the strategy part of this game. There are also more new hi-tech weapons such as laser guided missles, TV guided missles, C4s and much more. With all the cool new features there comes a bad side.
The game in general is very buggy, especially online. These glitches ruin the game at times but there not to bad since EA games releases new patches to fix these bugs. Another downside is that, like Vietnam and 1942, there is still no indepth singleplayer mode. The AI is dumb even on the highest difficulty level. There is also no real story mode, but I believe this game takes part in the near future. Another warning is you need to have alot of money to run this game, depnding on your computer specs. If you have one of the latest graphics cards and a whole lot of ram or computer memory, you shoudnt have a problem running this game otherwise you'll have to upgrade. Bottom line is that this game is a great multiplayer experience for fans of all genres. I would recommend this game to everyone, it's that good.
