THE GOOD: Multiplayer Sound Replayability Weapons Levels
THE BAD: Some of the graphics Lack of interesting cheats
SUMMARY: On the whole TWINE is a great game. It surpasses everything that Goldeneye64 accomplished.
There are 14 levels to start with. The first is sort of an introduction level in many ways: it doesn't have a lot of shooting and focuses more on using gadgets and moving around. All of the levels have objectives to complete (rescuing hostages, defusing bombs, sneaking out of a villa, etc.). They all have a variety to them. Some are about stealth and some are about shooting at anything that shoots at you. The great thing is there are difficulty settings for each level: AGENT, SECRET AGENT, & 00 AGENT. The only downside to the levels is that a small fraction of the graphics isn’t that great. Some are a little fuzzy and some are choppy. But the majority of them are great graphics.
The sound is great with a wide variety of songs from the movie. The sound effects are great; it is cool to hear the empty shells hit the ground as you reload your gun.
The variety of weapons also is a positive factor in the game. The player is offered a wide variety of weapons from automatic to single shot to a dart-firing watch.
Overall the game is great. But what really shines is the multiplayer. You can play with your friends but you can also play with the computer. A new AI-Bot addition allows you to battle computer opponents in a multiplayer arena. This enhances gameplay greatly and increases the amount of replayability. The variety of multiplayer levels is also in a high quantity. And to add to the replayability factor are awards that can be received if certain levels are beaten by a certain time. Some of the awards are new multiplayer weapons, multiplayer characters, and multiplayer levels.
The bad thing about the game is that there is a small amount of awards that are interesting. Most of them are just new characters, and once you have them all you realize that you won’t be using all 183 of the available characters.
Overall though it is a great game and definitely worth getting.
