Empire Earth III

"Despite uniformly good reviews for the first game, and good-but-not-quite-as-good reviews for its sequel, Mad Doc's series has never quite recovered from the fact that Age of Empires was there first - or that Rise of Nations did broadly the same thing, but in a more accessible and more heavily promoted way."

While it may be a lot smoother and simpler than its predecessors, Empire Earth III has been dumbed down to the point of irrelevance.

In a year of excellent RTS titles, Empire Earth 3 has nothing to offer. In an effort to garner mass appeal, the game has been dumbed down to the point of irrelevancy. Series fans have no reason to return, and newcomers have no reason to show up in the first place. Empire Earth 3 is the epitome of a video game series' death knell.
