THE GOOD:
Enemy spotted, enemy down! Awesome communication options. Graphics awesome (HL duh...), weapons awesome (very accurately rendered, especially the M-16).

THE BAD:
Money problems will get you down, but then it's NOT that big of a problem. Stupid Kevlar sometimes doesn't seem to work at all even though it does. Last two people playing are campers, and the match takes FOREVER to end... Slight learning curve for the beginner to identify friends from foe, both wear camo sometimes...

SUMMARY:
1) Pick a team
2) Pick a dude
3) Save some cash (me no like saving money, CleavesF just want the BIG guns!!!)
4) Buy the BIG gun
5) Buy a pistol
6) Buy Kevlar
7) Custom Spray a pic of Britney Spears and you're ready to go!
8) Rescue hostages, protect VIP, protect targeted bomb site, or prevent rescue, kill VIP, and bomb bomb site.

Fun fun, until when you use ICQ or AIM you type 'y' everytime before you...

THE GOOD:
You might find CS so addictive, you might wanna spend the rest of your mortal days challenging other hopefulls. Which, in this case is better than good.

Being so old now, you'd expect players to be tired of the game being tired, but it isn't.

The sound is great too, playing with headphones, and volume at full blast, may make your ears pop. The gunfire, the moans and groans of the dead, and general water-splashing and ladder tapping is still impressive for a 5-6 year old modification.

Oh yeah, the thousands of servers are just phenomanal, really.

THE BAD:
The graphics are sub-par, but what do you expect for an old MOD? You can't have it all. This is the Space Invaders of modificitions.
Despite that, the guns are modelled nicely, but the blood looks like big chunks of frozen Tomato Ketchup flying through the air...

Another shame is, there are constantly new updates, which, with a 56k modem, (or below) these...

Counter-Strike is an online multiplayer FPS, where your goal as either a counter-terrorist, or a terrorist is to eliminate the opposing force.

The idea of the game is what makes it so wonderfull, the missions are high involved and include every team member.
As a counter-terrorist you take on such roles and hostage rescues, bomb defusals, and VIP escorsts.
As a terrorist you try to defend your hostages from CT's, blow up a import structure on the map, or eliminate a VIP.

The game graphicialy is not the best out there, you'll barely notice in it's fast paced action moments. The character models are still pretty detailed, as are the weapons and map textures.

Even though the game is quite old, the producers and makers keep making updates for the game, which allows for neverending fun.

Online play? It's easy with a build in feature that allows you to find the fastest server, playing the map you want. So you don't have to buy anything...

THE GOOD:
Man i love this mod, the best online mod of half-life i have ever played, sure takes online gaming into another level, i just cant stop think about when im gonna play it again....

THE BAD:

SUMMARY:
Man first time i saw this game i knew i had to have it, one of the greatest and most played games online right now......
Sure gets funner everytime more people join a level, both side have great advanatges and disavantages...
Also the levels are great.....

SUMMARY:
This is the best LAN game ever on the PC, nice guns, nice levels. ICEWORLD KICKS @$$.Go guy this game if you like multiplayer FPSes. The bad thing about this game is that there are too many hacker online and the laag really gets on your nerves when you try to shoot someone

This is a really great game. They made an update recently i just hope they make more. The things I would like to see is more interaction with knifes. As people are more experienced the game should be too. It didnt take me that long to understand the controls and everything but now I get it and thats all.

THE GOOD:
So popular, so great, lovely multiplayer on the net and on LAN.

THE BAD:
Cheaters! those *******!

SUMMARY:
I love this game. I found it through a club in my school, a games club run by the head of D.T. Who now can't do it because he got promoted. Anyway this game is great for playing with friends if you have a couple of PCs or laptops. This game is so popular it is loved around the world. If you are thoinking of buying Half-Life get a pack with Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Opposing force and blue shift they are all great games. There are bots that you can download my opinion is Pod Bots because you can download waypoints for maps. You can download and maps for Counter-Strike and waypoints for these maps aswell. I give this game two thumbs way up for it's great multiplayer but the cheaters on the net beware of.

THE GOOD:
Great gameplay. Not just like Wolfwenstein 3D, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, 2, 3, SOF, etc., etc. etc. Horribly addictive.

THE BAD:
Graphics and sound could be better, but who cares when the gameplay is this good. Horribly addictive.

SUMMARY:
Counter-Strike is [insert four letter word]-ing awesome. It's just like playing cops and robbers with the gang in the old days (just a lot better). It has a terrific blend of tactical teamplay and all-out, no-holds-barred, rambo action. You can chose between close quarters battle with an auto-shotgun, or sniping from unseen locations with an Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWP killing enemies with one shot to the kneecap. I've been playing since Beta 6.5 and I agree that this game has gone slightly downhill since then, but it's still an amazing game. This has to be one of the greatest squad based games of all time except for maybe TF2.

THE GOOD:
1. Weapons - It has the best real life weapons for example, Ak-47, The M4A1 Carbine, Steyr AUG, MP4 Navy, Grenades, Flashbangs, C4's etc.
2. Teams - There are two teams the Police (CT) And the terrorists (T)both have battles against each other.
3. Maps - There are hundreds of maps for CS each one of them having there own flavour. Some of the best maps I recomend are: cs_mansion, de_aztec, de_dust, cs_bloodstrike, fy_poolday
4. Multiplayer
5. Addictiveness

THE BAD:
1. Graphics - Graphics are good but not excellent, still I consider this as a weak point.
2. Hackers - A lot hacking can be going on at times which can be frustrating.
3. AWM campers (snipers) - The part which I mostly hate, I hate the AWM snipers, they just hide around and as soon as a person appears the shoot and your dead meat

SUMMARY:
Everything is good in Counterstrike especially the multiplayer option. You can play this game in internet...

THE GOOD:
great gameplay (apart from lag if u av a slow connection)
can keep you on all night
its free if you have Half Life
Quite easy to join a clan and make friends
SO FUN

THE BAD:
slightly dated graphics
cheaters and hacking scum

SUMMARY:
I docked it 0.1 mark simply because of the volume of cheaters in virtually all of the servers. But it isnt the games fault as it is quite unstoppable. Howver hours of fun can be had in the most popular online game in the world. You can download the game off of steam if you already have half life, this makes it very easy to get. the graphics are dated but show me a game using a 1998 engine that looks better and is still this poular??? A good internet connection is needed nowadays as 56k below seems to lag endlessly. the maps are great to play on and the action gets ur heart a pumpin'
