"This game is right on target for kids. It takes a popular movie and translates the humor very well onto a gaming platform. The large amount of variety will keep the kids’ interest, and the ease of difficulty will allow them to play without undue frustration. While there could be improvements in the platforming elements, and more originality in some of the mini-games, overall this is a lot of fun for kids, which is the point. And, there is definitely a lot of replay value, which is always a consideration for families. "

"I suppose a young gamer might get a kick out of this one if he or she is really into the Madagascar movies, but the bland gameplay and awkward structure do very little to provide an enjoyable experience. The best thing I can say about Escape is that nothing seems broken or fundamentally flawed, but that's not saying much. No matter how you look at it, Escape 2 Africa just isn't a good game. You'd be better served by diverting your attention to the virtually countless, fantastic titles that have hit retail in the last few months. Leave Alex and co. on the shelf."
