SUMMARY: Mafia is a very detailed game set in the 1930's and is all about a man named thomas angelo talking about how he became a respected man in the italian american gang of the mafioso's.the game this game blows GTA away, i myself am a big fan of grand theft auto and after playing mafia my mouth was left open for weeks at the stunning graphics whcih for it's time where incredible and an exzillerating storyline which is all out action.it is aimed at people who enjoy shooters. the characters are superb, from rrralph the ssstuttering mechanic to tommys calm cool persona, from the hot headed paulie to shy sam this game is simply brilliant in all areas, i garuntee the last two, three missions leave you wanting more.

THE BAD: the car racing level (at least it seems more realistic)
SUMMARY: this game is so cool. its storyline is something you would expect from a fuklly fledged movie, and the difficulty makes that game that bit more challanging than GTA. the vehicle physics are cool, you can shoot out tires, windows, etc. you can even shoot the fuel tank, which will then leak, making your target slow down! the free ride is also, cool, especially crouching in the raod with a tommy gun, spraying bullets at incoming trafic (aim for the engine....booom!!).
some of the missions are really cool, like the one where you have to shoot down a plane taking off from the passenger seat of your car.
overall, it is a challanging game which will grip you with its 1930 era class.
THE GOOD: Everything! The selection of vehicles, the weapons, the missions, hard, all the specs that make up a good game.

SUMMARY: I love this game! I thought it was much better than any of the GTA games and has much better missions. The missions actually take planning and skill to complete rather than just barging in and killing everyone such as you can do in the GTA games. The missions are very lengthy which is what I like. Each mission takes around 20 - 40 minutes to complete and thats a good thing! They are filled with action and I promise you, they won't disapoint you. I can't belive how under-rated this game is. It deserves a lot more hype than it truly got and I'm hoping there will be a Mafia 2. This game is being released on Xbox on PS2 this spring and I'm looking forward to buying it. SUMMARY: I can't believe people think this game is that great. It's ok, but nothing special. The company hypes it everywhere like a media whore and people buy it mindlessly.
I was going to consider buying the sequel to this game. But I have noticed a massive public relations HYPE campaign launched by the developers...very Microsoftish in style. Therefore I will NEVER buy another title from this company and I will thell everyone I know to NOT buy Mafia.
It's a mediocre game being shoved down the throats of true gamers in classic Bill Gates' fashion. Yes it functions at some level but it is not "Da Bomb". I personally boycott companies that use underhanded tactics to trick consumers into buying their product.
THE GOOD: fantastic storyline, good voice acting, and intriguing gameplay.
THE BAD: sometime having to drive between and during the missions can become tiresome. a very minor problem though.
SUMMARY: this really is a great game, in my opinion it should be the game of the year, even over gta:vc. the stroyline could make a decent movie or tv mini-series, it's that good. the voice acting is convincing and the characters are all well defined. the city itself is amazing and unlike the gta series, which this game really takes after, the entire city is unlocked from the begining and is very well detailed. the missions you become involved in include some fun driving segments and fantastic shootouts. every missions has multiple parts and get you so drawn into the story that you crave to beat them just to get to the wonderfully written cut-scenes. of course like most games this one does have a few flaws which is why I couldn't give it a perfect...

SUMMARY: this game is excellent. if you like GTA3, of course you will like (or love) mafia. the story is much better than GTA3's and the gameplay is also much more realistic. some people will like that....some won't. the missions in mafia can also become a bit more challenging than those found in GTA3 as well. all in all, it's an excellent game with a very entertaining plot to follow. i just don't see why people keep calling it a FPS when it clearly is not.

SUMMARY: This game kicks ass! It beats GTA3 in almost every aspect! Its got a lot better graphics...more interactable, realistic, better AI, and what else is there to say? its one of the best games i have ever played, if not the best. but it can never beat Super Mario World! the realism is high. you can shoot out tires, shoot off tires, shoot through car windows, shoot people while they are shooting you (from a car window). If you want a good game to play, than go buy this but if your afraid of fun, than fuhgeddaboutit.
