SUMMARY: I first saw Medieval Total War about a year ago on my brother's laptop, and, after running out Age of Empires by downloading it off KaZaa, I thought it was time for something more real and a better medieval strategy game.
I downloaded the demo and was blown away by the music and the superb gameplay. I decided to pick it up, yes, a legit copy, and I was blown away.
This game puts you in the shoes as a mighty king and you pick one of 9 nations including Byzantium, the Holy Roman Empire, France, Britain and Spain. Each nation has its own unique attributes and special units. For example, Byzantium gets superb generals and heavily armored Kataphrotkoi to lead some of its armies,...
This is a masterpiece. Over 10,000 units in battle at once, you can order where ever you want on the big maps, tell them to get into different formations, attack enemys, lay siege to castles and much more. You will see your units moving around the 3d battlefield and fighting with the enemies. You can play as many different countries from the medieval time period, each with different units which can be bought for use in battle. The campaign mode is brilliant, just takes a bit of time getting used to. A map of Europe is displayed, showing which territories belong to which country and showing the armies stationed there and any fortifications that have been built. You start off with the empire that your chosen country has. You can train up different units, move your armys around and wag war or build alliances with other countries. When you are done, click end year and you will see the armies and emissiaries moving around on the map. You will also notice a change in your money....
THE GOOD: Massive and realistic battles, perfcet usage of both real-time and turn based systems, nice graphics, marvelous campaign.
THE BAD: A little confusing,Many bugs!! Many bugs! And many bugs!
SUMMARY: This game could´ve been awesome, it incredible mange to have a turn based (to build your empire) and a real time (in battles). It´s awesome to have a realistic battles, not like in warcraft´s, where your soldiers are created by using gold and wood inside some barracks almost their size. It has some good strategy, since, by having a better strategy, you can win a larger, and even better army! (definitely, not like warcraft!). So, what´s the problem? First, after you have a large empire, it woul be a pain to mange taxes and assign titles in all your provincies (Set it to auto mode? It´s the same as destroying your empire!, but that´s ok... What really bother´s is the game´s bug. when you are playing for a long time, you see many!...
THE GOOD: exellent battles, graffics and pretty good realism(historicly speaking)
THE BAD: partially turn based(i prefer rts) long time to build army (i like here and now)
SUMMARY: one of the best games i've played, pure rts's included, could be better but not by much. the whole spy espionage thing is lost on me the whole no honor in battle because i bribed the whole stinking army thing kinda gets to me but ya' know what can you do... oh thats right not play! but... the realistic battles very much make up for the other things. over all i would sell someone elses soul for the game and the system to run it... oh thats right it is a little picky about the system you use. (pentium 4 and win xp minimum) bummer oh well guess i'll just rob a bank... just kidding. (rock on compatiots)
THE GOOD: .Over 10,000 single men in a battle .The most realistic Medieaval battle ever .Complicated controls bring to a "sims" sort of game
THE BAD: Complicated for first time users but that can soon be overcome
SUMMARY: This smash hit seller sequel to SHOGUN and the overall keen gameplay make this best game apart from Vice City (GTA). The way Total War made the 1-player game is astronomicaly phenomonal, if you have this plus a very good/ high spec. computer, you will be in gaming heaven for a long time. This game is real life in the Medieval period tied in with the board game called Risk and Age of Empires, which is another reason why it is so good because it ties in lots of other games and real life together. I definitally can not wait for ROME: TOTAL WAR to come out. Perfection out of reach by any other game includin Comand and Conquer Generals !!!!!!!

SUMMARY: The next game after Shogun total War. (better than shogun IMO) Yet this time the game takes place in the medieval ages instead of japan. There are many new units, and also a new and improved campain mode. Expect massive battles with up to 10,000 warriors on the screen at once. A good game for any Shogun fans.
Also a good online game.
When playing Campaign mode, you spend most of the time at a Map-- like playing a board game. You see your terrortories, some of the enemies, your lands, your armies, the buildings around, etc. Then you move your army to conquer new locations, and it's similar to any other type of "war board game" campaign.
