Ragnarok Online is by far the best online game I have ever played and heard of (in fact, it's the first one I ever played). You might want to try it out, seeing as the game is free for 7 days (Europe) and 2 weeks (America, I think).
There are tons of things to do. You train your character and then, after reaching a certain level, you can choose one of the seven jobs featured in this game. Each job requires different skills, and your abilities will change depending on the job you chose. You can always talk to other characters whenever you want, and you even have the ability to create an own chat room or trade items with other people using the deal system. This game is really worth buying, and if you're looking for a good online game, I definitely suggest you Ragnarok Online!
